I'm just about to start making my invites which I'm completely excited about although they probably will look naff cos I'm not very artistic.
On Saturday I saw an old friend who does all that kind of thing and he said he would do my order of service for me, I don't know whether to or not, I'm kind of looking forward to doing it all myself.

i think you should tell him that you are doning it all yourself. tell him that you want to add a personal touch to thee wedding so you are doing it all yourself. if there is anything else that needs doing that you dont want to do then ask him if he will help

Why don't you just let him know that you'd like to do them yourself, i'm sure that he won't mind. You can only give it a go and see what you can come up with! I'm sure you'll be surprised and they'll be lovely!

i wasn't artistic at all but i just bought some cheap card, ribbon and a few other bits from bay of e and had a goo i was really pleased with the result and thought it looked amazing when i had finished, i did my thank you cards to match! once you get going and find a design you like you just get on a roll and get them all done.
I would recomming looking online finding a design you love and then just replicating it
