To be fair you have 9 months to go Kimmy so I would be buying everything too lol. with 23 months to go I have some time to get this lot done, mess up, try and again and then buy it if it doesn't work out lol. There is a cracking website called Project Wedding which gives you tons of ideas x

Before I met my hubby to be, and I was quite depressed (I was rather down trodden by my ex husband) and I needed a hobby that kept me indoors, so I started making cards. I made quite a good little business out of it.
Not that all those who make home made crafts are depressed, but I got such self satisfaction out of making the cards, it gave me a little lift.
Anyway, I med H2B and I sold all my craft stuff, just keeping key bits.
The order of services have taken longer to make.

I had a little help from VistaPrint for invites and stickers to personalise favours, but i'm decorating the venue myself, have sourced the balloons and clintons will put hellium in them, personallising champagne bubbles and favour boxes, having purple sugared almonds and silver balls (french thing) that i'm going to put into purple voile, have bought a "make your own" centre peice for buffet table, buffet i'm doing myself with the help of friends.
A lot of my stuff has come from the poundshop too as they have some really good items in there.
Happy to be Mrs Holt, love my husband and love the memories

I would do everything except the food - and I've been in catering for over 10 years. If you insist on doing the food, then I would advise the following. Allow time to do the whole food shop the day before. Prior to that, ask specific people to do a plate each - eg, sandwiches whatever and plan the shopping so that they can come to collect exactly what they need, including the plate / tray to put it on.
Let each helper bring it to the wedding venue, with strict instructions to leave food in their fridge and appropriately wrapped for as long as possible.
Buy the desserts unless you have a fab cook amongst you. Costco lemon cheesecake, chocolate gateaux and tiramisu are fab to just cut and self serve.
Don't forget you will need trays for everything, and serving utensils. Black bags for the rubbish too. If I were you, I'd buy everything you can disposable else you have to let someone wash up or leave it to go mouldy until you're back from honey moon.
Assign a couple of people to keep the buffet tidy every now and again.
Assign people to clear away at the end. Hopefully most can be swept into bin bags and left in the venue's commercial bins.
You have two big issues - 1) time: food prep is exhausting and you will not have time to do everything on the day, unless you are caterers with staff and commercial fridges - and 2) food safety: a lot of buffet items need to be kept in the fridge, so you can't prep it and lay it out before you go into a service which might be an hour followed by an hour of photos before your guests even get as far as the reception.
Hope that helps :0) It's do-able with careful planning and logistics, just don't get so exhausted you can't enjoy your day.
