    Long sorry....

I am pale and do my make up the same all the time:
Black eyeliner, pale foundation, mascara and different colour lipstick (but mainly red if going out)
I don't particularly want to pay someone to do my make up as in every experience of someone else doing it (photos etc) they make me look orange!
I am so stuck on how to do my make-up... When H2B talks about what he imagined the wedding to be like he always says me with red lipstick. The problem is that I want the wedding to be elegant and I'm worried that I won't look very elegant with red lipstick especially teamed with my purple colour scheme. In everyday life I would have no problem with matching bright colours like that but I don't think it's the style I want for the wedding. I'm torn as I want to still look like me and be the person H2B fell in love with but I don't want to look like I'm going out to a club.
    ALSO..
As I'm so pale I don't want to look washed out with my ivory dress and blonde hair in the photos but I don't want to look fake either. (I'm also thinking of the wedding night - you always look better with a tan when your naked lol) any ideas?

If you're going to try a fake tan do it this year as a test, well that's what my friend reckons, she's seen a couple of people who looked a bit orange at their wedding!
Personally, I'd like to be subtle in the piccies and then glam it up a little for the evening do. That way you both get your wish! xx

Natasha you can either go with australian gold fake tan (done professionaly) it works with the pigment in your skin
    OR
speak to a professional spray tan expert & tell them you just want a natural tan.

Also a make up artist wouldnt make you orange they work with your colour & what you want, they might advise you on certain things though (my cousin is a make up artist)

I am a make up & fake tan fanatic lol, Love everything about both of them. I believe in fake tanning but i always do it.

You should do what ever your going to feel comfortable with, i know that on my wedding day i wouldnt be comfortable if i didnt have fake tan, fake eyelashes, make up professionaly done & nails done but thats just me & how i feel

im sure no matter what your h2b will think you look gorgeous

    xx

In a chemist that sounds like wellies they have make up counters.
The # 7 one will do you a make up trail for £5 which is knocked off the price of something if you buy.
If you go in when they are not too busy and get them to do you a make over, just to see what you think. It might give you some idea's that you would never have thought of yourself.

Mega tip! Go onto The tube that is you, and look up makeup techniques or demos, some of these girlies really know what theyre doing! I had to look because I never wear more than mascara (and thats if I can be bothered!)

I wont be wearing fake tan - I never have before so I know I'd get it wrong! Also concerened about it rubbing off onto my white dress!
I have similar colouring to you - paleish with blonde hair - I tend to go for natural colours - fairly low key, but for the wedding I'll be glamming it up slightly - dark eyes and shimmery lips (I was going to wear pink lipstick but decided it was too much on me!)

Hya, I too am a serial fake-tanner : ) A cheap way to get it right yourself is go to Primark and buy a mitt called "Fake-it" for £2. Then invest in a decent fake tan such as Loreal Sublime and put it on - the mitt is amazing and doesn't streak. I have to say though I won't be faking it for the wedding I'll be going on the sun beds as the last thing I want on my dress is tan - just thinking of the weather, nerves and the dancing - could get a little sweaty and run lol.

As for the make-up, any decent department store will advise you on the best tones for your skin colour and to give you the look you want. With pale skin I think red looks quite severe but tanned up looks hot stuff.

Good look with your experimenting xx

I love a good old spray tan now, but I must admit it does miff me off slightly they way it comes off on your clothes, if your even just a tad sweaty. But I have been using a tinted moisturiser and the results are fantastic. Doesn't rub off and really natural looking. also means you can just put more on everyday until you reach the colour you want, and my skin loves it!

I really don't want to fake tan myself. id of it her get a light spray tan, but like roxy said its the thought of it coming off on my dress!

guesswho we have the opposite view on red lipstick i think it looks much classier with pale skin and wouldn't wear it with a tan because i know that I <<(not eveyone else... well some people) would look cheap with my bleach blonde hair, fake tan and red lips lol.

ill be gong to the leading chemist and speaking to someone for advice
