    Hey ladies,

Quick queation, we are having a rose theme for our wedding and I have pretty much picked out our wedding stationery but lately me and H2B have been joking around with the ball and chain thing, him waiting for me at the end of the aisle with an inflatable ball and chain around his ankle etc, anyway I have been looking at ball and chain save the date cards and have found one that we could upload our picture on to and me and H2B love it.

Do you think it would be ok to send out a ball and chain STD and then rose themed invites or should they all co-ordinate?

    TIA
    xx

our theme is pride and prejudice/white roses/flowers everywhere and very vintage in style. However, our save the dates were simply postcards of our venue with sections for the details of the wedding. They were only 50p so rather than plan what our stationary would be early when we didnt have a clue, and possibly spend a lot more money, we went with the venues own version of std. Therefore ours didnt match but they did match the venue. I dont think it matters if they match but I am not 100% sure. It would probably be better if they do but its not essential in my opinion

For me im not fussed if they match or not! we're having butterflys subtley placed throughout the wedding (i e name cards, invites, table plane etc) but for our save the dates we're going to have them set out as football tickets! so it'll be like

    Vs
    Whitelaw

    Fri 20th June 2014

    Save the date!

(But imaging it in the stle of a football ticket of course!) xXx

I wouldnt say that they have to match, i have got our save the date cards and havnt even looked for invitations yet, i wouldnt think anything of it if i got an invitation and it wasnt the same theme or design as the save the date card. i suppose its up to you really but in my opinion it doesnt matter x

Thanks. Thats nice that your STD are postcards of your wedding, ive never seen that before so comes across as quite original to me! : )

I have just posted some photos in my album of the ball&chain and rose invites. We love the ball and chain thing as its like a personal joke between us, but I dont know if I could get away with it as invites (if I can find any) even if my theme is roses. We most probably would incorporate it into our wedding but we like the fact that brings out the fun side of our relationship/wedding.

its nicer than the other one because it has your picture on it. It just depends if you want to add the humour factor now.

    It's totally up to you!

My whole wedding is quite a random mismatch of things but for me it ties in together because it's us.

    Do what you like.

I was going to have a our std and invites match but I have changes colours so I think they'll be different. I wouldn't worry about it. I doubt anyone will notice as they are normally sent out so far apart :)

yep i agree - its your day.....do what you and H2B want to do - i love the fact that its 'your thing' between you! but keep the invites to your chosen theme - just to set the tone for the day. I used the same colour in my save the date cards as i have in the invites but in a totally different way and they dont even look similar, so i say go for it! xxx

I didn't even have a colour scheme until last friday, and hadnt even picked my dress untill new years eve, but I sent my std's out with my xmas cards, lol. I think its upto you you really, my stds were on ivory card with a picture of two gold wedding rings, and black writing, so the only thing that matches at the minute is my dress as its an ivory colour lol, but my invies will hopefully have some kind of blue in them as my bridesmaids dress is royal blue, as Im making them myself (with help from my mum) I was thinking of doing them in royal/navy blue and with white writting.x

If you're about a year or so before the wedding then I don't think the STDs need to match your stationery at all :-)
