I'm first language Welsh, but don't live there any more.

I've been searching online to try and find some welsh love poems/sayings. But I have always found searching for welsh stuff on the internet is not very easy.

Obviously I cant just pop into a welsh book shop to have a look, and was hoping I could avoid spending money online on a book, thought I'd ask around if anyone here speaks welsh or knows of any welsh sayings poems that would be suitable for a wedding.

H2B is English, but want to keep the welsh alive in my life.

Hi Rhiannon. I'm Welsh but not fluent and my H2B is English too. I'm going back to Wales in half term so I'll see if there's any nice poem books in the charity shops if you'd like. Do you get back much? I'd love to move back to Wales but we live in Scotland now.x

I dont get to go back as often as I would like. But my mum and dad are coming up in about 2 weeks so I will get them to have a look for some books at the local welsh book shop.

I did find a few nice one online (eventually!!!)
I will write the translation next to it for you and any one else who reads this.

Cariad yw hel profiadau - Love is collecting new experiences
Ynghyd a'n llygaid ynghau. - Together with our eyes closed.

Llawn yw'r môr o swnd a chegryn - The sea is full of sand and pebbles
Llawn yw'r wy o wyn a melyn - The egg is full of white and yellow
Llawn yw'r coed o ddail a blode - The trees are full of leaves and flowers
Llawn o gariad merch wyf inne. - I am full of a girls love for me

Pan fyddor nos yn hir, - When the nights are long
A phell y wawr. - And the daybreak seems far away
Brwydro drwyr oriau hir, - I fight through the long hours
Heb gwsg un awr. - without sleeping
Ym ladd a throi a throi, - tossing and turning
Drwyr oriau maith. - through the hours
Heb weled diwedd ddoe, - without seeing the end of yesterday
Na phen ir daith. - or the end of my journey
Y na drwyr twyllwch du, - or through the dark night
Gwelaf dy wyneb di, - I see your face

Wrth gofior rhamant, - I remember the romance
    Cau maer amrant,
Pan for nos yn hir. - When the night is long
Y na drwyr twyllwch du, - then through the darkness
Gwelaf dy wyneb di, - I see your face
Ac ofn a gilia braw ddiflanna, - all my fear disappears
Pan ddawr nos yn ddydd. - and the day comes

My translation is quite literal so it doesn't really work as I am not a poet, but I think you get the idea !! hehe

im in wales (have been for 13 years) but cannot speak welsh, originally from essex. I wanted to learn it but the primary school i was moved into was useless and didnt bother to teach me the basics that the other kids already knew, which meant when i got to comp i couldnt pick any of it up! I can pronounce words fairly well, and know all the usual stuff you see out and about but nothing more than that :(
hope you find what your looking for, i'll keep an eye out for books for you :)
