Hi everyone. Just wondering if anybody else has a jar that they and H2B put their spare change into. After me and H2B got engaged a lable up a jar as "the wedding fund" with instructions to "put your coppers in here". Checked it this morning and was pleasently surprised to find that there's £62.21 in there.

We do this, any change goes in up to 20p! Except we've been dipping in lately for bus fares, so only had @ £7 this month! xx

H2B put in place a rule that say if you take anything out of the wedding fund then you have to put more back in, which is great as it really stops the temptation to dip into this.

we have a pot that used to be for a treat each month but it has now turned into a honeymoon fund! we have delayed out honeymoon till feb and so any pounds or 2pound coins go in there and we emptied it the other day and there was over £80 in there from just a couple of months so it went straight to the bank to join money we were given on the big day!its amazing how much you can save by doing it!x

we always have a few on the go too! we have a terrimundi each for all of our £1 and £2 coins. Usually we get about £300 each a year out of that. Then we have the joing "greff" jar, which is all other coinage. We empty that just before Christmas every year and usually about £150-£200 in it!

this year they are all getting emptied before the wedding for spending money on honeymoon!

We've got one of the tins from the pound shop (one of the larger size) that we put tens, twenties and occasionally fifties in (tbh h2b puts more in than me lol) - then we have one of the large plastic 'lager' bottles that are for coins, and put fives and copper in. We've been saving for ages in that and it's still less than a quarter full, so think we've got a long time of saving yet lol.

i have got a tin where i cant see how much or what is in there... it feels pretty full and heavy its everything from 5p to £20 notes :) so hoping that is already quite good and thats so far only what i put in... dont know about h2b he hasnt saved so far but we trying to do a sort of competition as who can save up more... but i guess he will win that as he has just more income but tbh i speand already like £300 or more only on wedding things from ties, decoration o invites ... and he hasnt put anything towards that so that counts sort of too :D

We have a huge glass bottle which we add 1p, 2p and 5ps to.
We've had it for as long as we've been together (5.5 years).
We said we'd count it when it got to the top and spend it on a holiday.
Thankfully we're nearly there so it'll help pay for our honeymoon. (Hope we can go somewhere exciting!)

Got given a tatty teddy piggy bank for xmas to help and it started off as a basic wedding/holiday/honeymoon fund and we put £1 coins in it. Got over £100 for the holiday we had in June saved up and started again for September - however much will help us pay for other things we need such as spends on honeymoon or clothes for honeymoon, surprising bills for wedding things, etc.

The other thing that would happen would it would be spent on crap or chocolate so at least its being saved and stops me putting on the pounds. :)

Almost forgot also got another jar just for 1p, 2p and 5p coins that's got about £8 in it now. :)

We've done it for years with coppers and normally get about £80. My bank also does a save the change thing where everytime you use your debit card to buy things they round it up to the next pound and put the difference into a savings account, its brilliant! The other thing I am starting is I get paid weekly on a wednesday so every tuesday night whatever is left in that account gets moved over into the savings account too xxx.
