Ok so first of all a little bit of background.

My bridesmaids are going to be a pain in the **** with both hair and makeup and I honestly am at the point where I aren't willing to even try and talk about it anymore. They all 'need' different styles or they won't be happy so I have come up with a solution (I think) but before mentioning it to them I thought I would see what you guys thought first.

Bridesmaid 1 will only have her hair either all down or up in a bun, she can't have it down because I'm having mine down so wanted theirs up so that leaves a bun. I was thinking she would just have a plain simple high bun with a dimante in the middle of it.

Bridesmaid 2 wants her hair down or at least the bits around her face down because 'she looks fat with it all up' (she is a size 6!!). For her I was thinking a messy bun with the dimante in the middle and tendrils of her hair down at the front so she doesn't look 'fat'.

Bridesmaid 3 wants to be a princess (she is 12 and still likes to act like a little girl) I was thinking for her she could have the bun again with a braid around it or something just to make it a little different with the dimante in the middle like the other two.

Do you think that these are similar enough for it to be ok or think it will look silly? I honestly can't think of another way I could do this without them all being totally different :/ x

Edit: with the makeup I have come to the conclusion that 1 will have a lot of black around her eyes no matter how hard I try, 2 will be orange with 2849 layers of fake tan and 3 will be covered in glitter so the hair is really my last hope. x

Thanks Georgi, I figured I'm at least trying to meet them half way. If they want to complain after I suggest this god knows what I'll do but it's worth a try. x

My MOH had her hair in a bun style and my other 2 bms had their hair down.

All my bridesmaids will have to have different hair and make-up because they have different hair styles and different skin colours (from really pale with fair hair to an Indian lady with jet black hair). As long as they all look and feel good I don't mind. I will make sure they all have the same accessory in their hair though.

I think the three different styles of buns idea is a fab one. That way they all look "uniform" but individual at the same time.

Is there a chance BM2 might go for something like in the pic? as the volume in the hair might elongate her face therefore not making it "fat" and then they can all have the same style if thats what you would personally prefer. After all it is YOUR wedding and although you'll want them all feeling comfortable, ultimately it's you who should have final say x

My BM's all had different hairstyles as I think everyone has different face shapes and suits different styles so one style may not suit all. One BM had a smooth bun style up do, one BM had a curly relaxed updo with tendrils around her face and the other BM had half up half down. I think its better that they individually looked good rather then looking identical. They did all wear the same blue pearl haircomb though which matched their dresses xx

mine will all have different styles, my oldest bridesmaid has a very, very short bob, my middle bridesmaid has waist length hair (is having it half and half) and the two little ones will probably have there hair down (both shoulder length) x

I think all different works fine and you've actually chosen a loose theme of a bun so I think that will work perfectly.

I told my 5 BM choose whatever they wanted but different to mine - but my hair stylist said all weddings she's ever done are always all BM the same and did them the same- so I ended up with 2 very tearful teenagers at their trial both feeling ugly. I couldn't have that - they are my nieces and it's more important to me that they all feel beautiful and happy than we follow the done thing. So they also have a loose theme but all a bit different

I agree with Sarah i would much rather have a 12 yr old princess than a hormonal horror lol!
I think its fine for them to all have differnt hair (i am assuming they are all wearing similar dresses which will unify them anyway?)I only had my daughter who is 8 and she had her waist length hair down and curly and my moh (sister) who has a bob not disimilar to mine so we had very similar hair but everyone knew i was the bride still! I would be tempted to let them have their hair how they wanted it so that they would be comfortable and happy....there is nothing worse than miserable looking bridesmaids on photos! x

All my BMs had different hairstyles ... one has short hair so just had a clip, one had half up half down and the other had down with a hairband xx

When I was BM last year the hair dresser did my hair REALLY badly. It looks hideous. As a result I felt uncomfortable all day and hate every photo of me from the day. I'd say let them be happy, they will be better BMs that way!!
