We have come to the task of picking wedding rings and I have been very easy to please and picked a plain 18ct white gold band to match my engagement ring. My OH however is becoming very hard to please he wants a yellow gold ring but insists that we must match so he's finding it very hard to find one that he likes. I don't see the problem but he thinks it's bad luck or something. Just wondered if any if you are having non matching rings nd what your opinions are ? Thanks :)

Ours match but purely because we both wanted stainless steel - As long as you are happy - doesnt matter if they match or not

That's what I thought. I was thinking if I got a few peoples opinions on here and shown them to him he would be convinced. :) I think matching would be nice but we are not going to walk around with our hands out are we lol

No need to match at all. Ours only match as they came as a pair, but they were the ones hubby preferred out of the ones I showed him. I would have preferred one of the other ones but they also came in a pair so pretty pointless.

You don't have to match at all, my husband doesn't even wear a ring (he has a strange fear of them) but he did manage to wear one for the day itself these our our rings and they don't match at all.

I thought this too but after going to a few jewelers i realised not many couples match their rings nowadays and its more important you are happy with the rings. Also on your wedding day you may have a few pictures taken of your rings together but thats it...

it is definitely personal preference on whether you match or not! its more what the ring represents symbolically more than what it looks like!! We are having similar rings that match in terms of colour/matt/shine etc but not necessarily the same style! dont know yet! all personal choice!! xx

Course you don't... I'm planning on having a yellow gold one to match my engagement ring but h2b wants a titanium one so he can wear it for work and not worry about scratches/dents as much. I think it's personal preference x
CommentAuthorHelenW
Ours dont match either. Mine is white gold to match my E ring and his is titanium xx

Our rings aren't matching. I'm have a platinum one intricate detail and he's having a palladium plain one. We both picked the ones we liked.

No I doubt ours will match, h2b said he doesnt even want a ring so his will be purely for show on the day i suppose.

I think it is just a man thing. My h2b wants ours to match too but he doesn't like any of the rings that I do so I doubt we will end up going for a matching set. A wedding ring is a wedding ring as long as you are both wearing one I dont think it matters whether or not they are the same as each other :) And I've never heard of it being bad luck not to have matching ones either xxx

We don't have matching rings, my partners not allowed to wear gold rings in his job so hes got a completely different design and colour to mine
CommentAuthorInDreamland
Nope, they don't have to match hun. Ours may not match as I'm considering getting a diamond cut ring rather than a plain band but I reckon H2B will want a plain one. He mentioned yellow gold too and my ring will be platinum to match my e-ring x

We intended on having matching rings until we went for a quote today. I'm having a shaped platinum band for £595 which I didn't think was too bad, for h2b to have what he wants in platinum it's £1050! So he's now having palladium instead! Xx
CommentAuthorMRST2B
I don't want to sound tight but for even the plain gold bands they are expensive aren't they. Im hoping to pick ours up in January sales. We have spoken tonight and he's gona have 9/18ct yellow gold depending on price and I will stick eith the 18ct white gold to match E Ring x

Ive got a very plain 18ct white gold wedding ring and H2B has got a 6mm palladium ring as it worked out cheaper than white gold, and they only came to £770 for both, and H2B ring has got free engraving.
Cant wait until I become Mrs K
CommentAuthorLilyB39
nay, don't have to match, my dad has a simple gold ring while my mum has a platinum one with stones
CommentAuthorvicki
We're both having the same engravings on our rings but his will be yellow gold and mine will be white gold to match my E ring
