hi me and my h2b had planned on having a simple registry office wedding and then a reception disco at the village hall but since then a few things have happened a few family members dont speak since my h2b is a traveller (gypsy) it will be open invites and we are worryed its going to be more hassle than anything else do we go away for the weekend or do we have a party or what do we do

Only u and ur hubby 2 be can decide that hunni. if ur having second thoughts about ur reception make sure ur not liable to pay for whatever you have booked with it being quite close to your wedding. dont let your families influence you and do what ever you both want to do x

Why dont you just have a little garden party back at your new house? Put up some bunting, small buffet, lanterns for when it gets dark, games for the kids, could be lovely!

I think that if you are thinking of not having a reception why didn't you choose to get married abroad? That way you woul escape all the hassle if you think it will be hassle and probably could do it cheaper? Only a thought x
