No It will b fine, Im thinking of taking my oh dress shopping lol who knows us better then our own partners. I made the mistake of taking my mum and sis to show them 'The one' and they just stood there infront of the lady saying how horrible it was tacky and looked poorly made with cheap gems etc... They went on & on bout how bad it was. The poor lady and me just stood there. I havent been back and will never take them again ever. So as they do cost so much i think its wise if my oh helps me pick i only really care what me and him think of my dress so it makes sense really. Most men couldnt care less what dress the there brides wear its just a dress to them, At least ur oh is intrested to see it.
CommentAuthorShazk
I understand why U feel that way I would as well. I dont think of it as bad luck but I would be upset to, I dont think it would stop me wearing it as you will look much better than what he has seen as he loves U not the dress! Xxx

I downloaded lots of dresses i liked and asked my OH opinion, ours is slightly different as we're getting married away with just the 2 of us. I dont think it matters as he wont know what ur going to look like with hair and make up done x
CommentAuthorTeganandRob
I don't think it's bad luck and dresses look so different on different people that even though he's seen it on someone else it will be the first time he sees you in it on th wedding day and it will be like he never saw it.
Of course it's not bad luck. If you wanted it to be a surprise you shouldn't have been giving him clues but realistically it's really not going to effect your marriage is it?

No i dont think its bad luck at all. just dont let him see it on you until the day !
CommentAuthorPrincess2be
It wont look the same on you as everyone else tho hun, you will look better cos its you thats in it, and its not bad luck. Happens all the time on dont tell the bride! x
CommentAuthorMrsRowan2be
I had a photo of mine saved on my phone... flicking through my photos one day and he saw it. Only briefly but I then deleted it straight away in case temptation got the better of him. That was before christmas and I'm sure he has forgotten already. On the wedding day he will have so many other things he won't remember that he saw it, and we will all look so beautiful in the whole ensemble that nothing else will matter. x

Hey shelleyM46 I think its fab ur h2b is interested in ur dress. Most blokes (inc mine) wont give a damn wot it looks like as long as we turn up. ll Everything will b fine. A dress doesnt determine how successful a marriage will b. xx

I'll probably accidentally let slip about my dress rather than him being interested, I can't keep anything a surprise, even if my life depended on it! I wouldn't view it as bad luck, just a bit of an annoyance that I wasn't able to contain myself and keep it a secret, and it's very sweet that he's taking such an interest :)

I don't believe in superstitions, the only reason I'm not showing h2b is for the surprise element. He doesn't want to know anyway, he's one of those annoying people who saves his Christmas presses until everyone else has ripped into theirs. Makes me eat breakfast before I can open mine!
Your dress is going to look different on you than on anyone else so it will still be a surprise for him.
I can't wait until 29/06/2013
The day I marry the man of my dreams!
CommentAuthorSam
I think it's a nice surprise, but not necessary. He hasn't actually seen you in it so I wouldn't worry
CommentAuthorCharlotteB32
My df came dress shopping with me. Although he hasn't seen me in it he has seen the dress. I don't think it's bad luck.
CommentAuthorMrs Davro
No I don't think It's bad luck any of it.
The only reason I'm keeping my dress a surprise is exactly that a surprise.
The only reasons we are sleeping apart the night before is so I can have a girly night with my baby (17) sister, so he doesn't see all the preparation going into making me look beautiful, and because he always hogs the bathroom till 30 mins before we are supposed to leave the house when he knows I need to start in the bathroom.
CommentAuthorKellyB81
I agree with the others I don't think it's bad luck. I asked my OH if he wanted to see my dress and he said no he wanted a surprise but if he had said yes I would have showed it him x

I don't think it's bad luck but still don't want him seeing it, knowing the design or anything as I want him to be suprised on the day - mine is hung on the side of our wardrobe!
I really did marry my Mr Wright and we had a nice day for a

I don't think it is bad luck tbh. I don't really have anyone to take along with me when I go to try on dresses so I am thinkin of taking my fiance to give his opinions. As he knows me, my style and also my almost complete inability to choose and how frustrated I can get lol. But he wouldn't see the whole ensemble so there would still be a final element of surprise to it.
If you have fallen for the dress then go for it. As others have said, he hasn't seen you wearing it and when he does you will be walkin down the aisle towards him.
CommentAuthornatalie2614
H2b can look if he wants, but he said he wants the suprise on the day, so do I :D

i agree with the others he might have seen the dress but they always look different on different people and he wont have seen it with all the other bits as well so it wll still be a surprise xx but if it bothers you that much about the superstition side of it (although i dont understand it all) then go for a different dress but if you love it all that much then stick with it, I would think though that he will have forgotten by the time you do get married xxxxx My Oh gets annoyed at me if i say about dresses cos he doesnt want to know what it looks like x i think it funny! Tho it annoying too cos i cant keep a secret!! X

I am wondering what to do about this myself. We live in Sussex and our parents live in Lancashire where we are getting married. I have seen and tried on what i thought was "the" dress in a shop in Preston with mum and BM and have only ever given clues to Chris. However driving past our local bridal shop down here the other day I saw a really pretty dress in the window which I wouldnt mind trying on. Only problem is we dont really have many friends down here since we havent lived here long- not really people who I would feel comfortable giving me advice. He has offered to come with me- will that be weird?
CommentAuthorCharlotteB32
Mrscross2be I wouldn't say it was weird. If you are both comfortable doing it I say go for it. At least you'd know.
CommentAuthorfloatee
MrsCross2be - nope, not weird at all. If you feel comfortable with his advice on how you look, and it boosts your confidence when you are there then go in and try the dress that you have seen on. Mine will more than probably be coming with me. In fact, we were talking wedding stuffs last night and he asked when we were going dress shopping :o).
CommentAuthormillz090
I think its only bad luck if he sees you in it so dont worry. Why would he want to see that badly anyway? And also remember dresses look very different on different people so he wont know what you will look like xx
