Hi ladies - I am looking for advice. I have invited many people from overseas to our wedding in UK by email stating that I would love it if they could afford it. (and that I needed to know a rough guess as to whether it was possible as it made a difference to size of venue so gave them a date to come back to me with an answer) A lot of them have come back already saying they can't, some didn't even bother replying. Do I still need to send them an actual invite even if they aren't coming ? (it's a mix of family and friends)

no, dont bother. They have gfiven you their answer and you did invite them at the end of the day. Invites arent cheap to be wasted anyways

Yeah I think if they've replied by email that they can't make it then there's no need to send an invitation by post too. Linzi-Jo's idea about a little card sounds nice :)

People who have definitely said no, then I wouldn't bother, but those that didn't reply, give it a try. They might still be deciding, or maybe waiting for an actual invite.

Been with my gorgeous 5years :)
Can't wait to become Mrs Ellery

I wouldnt bother with the people who you've had a defo no from, but i think the 'sorry you can't make it' card would be a lovely idea - good thinking x

I also invited a lot of people from overseas by sending them an email in january as the invites are not due to go out until end of July. So that gave them the extra time for saving and organising flights etc. I will not be sending proper invites to any of them, they have all replied via email to say yes or no so I see absolutely no point in sending invites when I already know their answers. Plus postage in uk is bad enough without adding in postage costs to start sending overseas. Xx

We sent out save the dates with our Christmas card and thought we would get a lot saying they can't make it from Australia/America but they can all make it!! We still haven't heard back from one of H2B's great auntie and uncle. Will probably have to send them an invite as I don't want them to think I'm rude but I don't think that they will come. I wouldn't bother sending a proper invitation to anyone I had a definite no from. x

I'm sending one to my grandparents even though I know they can't come, just because I think they'd like an invite to feel included/as a momento. Don't know if I would for anyone else and agree with points above, but if there's an outside chance they might make it and you have space I think I'd send them! x

I will send my grandma one yes as she is quite upset she can't come all this way. But yes, most others I will not bother. Maybe one last email!
