im having a church wedding and ive been thinking do i need to have order of service? the vicar said he doesnt mind if we do or not as he'll just put some hymn books out. if i should have them what exactly goes in them as i havent got a clue.

We're not having them as we've got an Abbey for our whole day but my friend who is getting married next year also, is having hers in a church & she's having an order of service. I think it's just a list of what's going to happen when, like when the hymns will be, the readings (if any) etc .. I'm not 100% sure on that though xx

Normally, you would have them at a church wedding, but you dont have to if you don't want them. It is basically an itinery of the service, so it is written in the order of when things will happen, and includes any words to the hymns you want the guests to sing and the readings. I will be having them because I think it will be easier for the guests to read the hymns off a piece of paper rather than trying to flick through a hymn book to find them, and for them to be able to see where abouts in the service they are xxx

this thread has got me thinking Linzi-jo if i need one or want one will everyone even bring there order of service or do they collect it as they are walking in to sit down Would it be extra and annoying ask them to carry it around with them I'm sure the Eden Project staff will be ushering everyone along to where they need to be Hmmm thinking ....=D <3 X
