I wouldnt say you need one its really down to personal preference.
I'm organising a surprise one for h2b as he loves them and its sentimental to him due to his army days ! He will be piping for the guests arriving at the chapel andthen when i arrive he will then go to the reception venue and pipe guest arrival there and then pipe us into dinner and at the cake cutting.
They are a nice touch if you like that kind of thing.
im not really much help i guess lol

you dont NEED one its only if you WANT 1 as alana says it is personal preference. and also depends on your budget, as they are not cheap! ive also booked 1 as a suprise for H2B! lol as he is scottish but we getting married here i thought it would bring a touch of scotland to our day (i know tartan ribbon would be cheaper haha) ive got the piper only for piping us and theguests out of the church and its costing a lot more than i thought but oh well H2B is worth it :) x
21st October 2011 will be the best day of my life!!!

I'm not sure I would have had one but H2B's uncle is a piper so he's going to do it for us. It is nice to have but not a must I dont think x

I agree with the others. You don't need one its all down to if you want one and how much it would mean to you and the h2b to have it.
