    Hi,

I like lots of things...the problem is that none of it matches! I will be wearing an ivory dress and I am having a really unusual deep blue and purple bouquet with irises, anemones etc, my Maid of Honour will be wearing sapphire blue and my bridesmaids will be wearing purple. They will have accent ivory colours in their bouquets and the groom etc will have navy suits and ivory cravats. The problem is that I want my reception venue to be very neutral - ivory, white, cream etc. Will it look ok to have a very neutral venue backdrop that doesn't include my flower/bridesmaid colours...?

    Thanks!

I think it's perfect to have a neutral backdrop irregardless of the theme. When your background is neutral it doesn't compete with the most important aspect of the day - you and h2b. You want to be the center of attention not your centerpieces x

We're doing something similar; the bridesmaids will be in navy, with pink flowers, the groom/best man/ushers etc will have pink or navy ties and pink button-holes, but your venue dressing and stationary is going to be different shades of ivory/white/cream. I love a neutral colour scheme as I think it's very classic, plus our venue is a boutique hotel, and already has a lot going on in the way of wall coverings, upholstery, etc, so colours would just clash and look OTT.

I think neutral will look good too.
Our wedding planner suggested putting bridesmaid flowers on the guest book table, mine on top table etc - With a neutral room and your flowers scattered around during your meal it could even do the matchy matchy thing too :)
