Best thing is to try them on! Different brands will come up different sizes. When i got married the first time i was a size 8 - but my dress was a size 6!!!

It depends on the designer and dress.

I think its a good idea, dresses are made differently. normal clothes size up differently depending on the maker. at least this way, you may be able to get it taken in hun x x

Always best too big than too small unless you are planning on losing weight then you can have it made so that it fits like a glove!

I have found they come up a bit smaller for the most part, but it varies.

IVE ONLY BENN ABLE TO TRY ON 14'S AND 16'S COS THAT ALL THEY HAD IN SAMPLES, BUT IM USALLY AN 8 SO I REALLY DONT HAVE ANY IDEA

im a size 10 my dress is a 10 but its massive, but then my bm usualy a 18 having to order a 22 coz her boobs in the way just tave it taken in to fit, she is a 34gg tho. so depends on make and ur body shape

They measure you, then order the dress to fit your largest measurement.

ive just been measured today - im a size 16, but having to order a size 18 dress - its my boobs she said!!! - lol, but it can be taken down 2 dress sizes if need be!!

ya measure you then work out what size be best even if have to take it in a bit or alot as my bm concerned, good job only a plain dress.

Yup depends on the designer..when I was my sister's bridesmaid I had a size 26 dress & my size was an 18-20..go figure!!

i am normally a 14 ish top, and 12 bottom, my dress is a 16, but it fits like a glove, its perfect :)x

It definately depends on design!! I've brough a 14 but when it is altered it will be a 10 and I'm an 8!! xx

Im a size 8 bottom 10 on top and my dress is a 10 fits like a glove at bottom (from under my boobs down) although had major problems with the top of it (if yous remember right lol) Im paying a fortune in alterations but will be worth it when its done. I dont even think if I had got the 12 it would have made difference at the top as the material sorta stops half way down my boobs if this makes sense, Im a 28HH nightmare. Im having a double cuff added at the top and hoping it looks as good. x

My wonderful dress lady , never mentions size with any bride they find what they like and she then measures you writes it all down and when the dress arrives it has been made to your perfect measurements:0) she did say that they make them small for some reason!!xxx

It really does just depend as you have different designers who use different measuring charts of what they think is a size '10' is (pffft dont know who they were sampling them off) also it depends on the dress. my wedding dress was ordered at the bridal buyers market, were we order all stock dresses- i just ordered it and guessed sizes- once we got home and looked at all of the companies charts and i normally wore 10-12 so i ordered a 12 and in 4 different charts i was coming out at 12,14,14,16!! yer i can see 14 but not 16? :S so i panicked and dieted and lost a stone- my dress arrived beg feb- its too bloody big tipical!! just shows do not let measuring charts scare you as i know -- they lie!!!!!
