try the large hobby store if you have one near you they do a lot of crafting demo's, you could ring your local one and find out when they are doing a demo and go in for a quick tutorial

Try Boyes, that's always a good place for me.

    Tips:
Do a few different types first, see which one you find easier and looks better, then go with that before doing loads all at once.
Keep it simple, if your not a very crafty person don't try jumping in at the deep end and end up getting stressed out over them.
Use what you have to your advantage, for example, if your not good at calligraphy, use a computer and re-go over it with a pen if you want it to have a hand-done look.

You may want to try invites that you print yourself rather than full diy invites. I bought mine in America but I've seen print your own invites on the bay.

Search online for DIY cards. I searched many different ideas before settling on the one I have. The well known hobby shop has an ideas area on their website.

    hi,
i decided to make ours in order to save the pennies. I found a digital download of some roses on e*t*s*y which only cost about £3 then bought some card from a local craft store to print to picture onto and away we go. Have done them all via the computer using w0rd and was able to put in a text box onto the picture and type in it. So far made ; musical request cards, RSVPs, save the date, invites & one for the directions, oh and managed to size the picture for some labels to go on the favour boxes for place names. I also managed to do them double sided... after alot of trial & error !!!!. The invites also have a transparency which has the wording on it but the backgorund is the same as the card just to make it a little different. The transparencies cost £10 and the card £4.99 for a pack of 100 sheets. I am certainly no billy whizz with a computer but think they look nice. Trying to get the pics i have taken into my album so feel free to look.

I bought my card from a local craft shop where it was 20p for 6 A4 sheets or pearlescent card so it actually worked out less than the bay. But my advice would be dont fret too much about them. Other than you and a couple of close family members, no one will keep them after the day, they will just go in the bin, so in my opinion it isn't something to spend a lot of money on. My invites are in my album and are very simple but they do their job! As long as they tell the guest where they have to be and when that is all that matters xxx
