I've been absolutely set from the beginning on having ruby slippers for my wedding day. I'd even bought some really gorgeous red shoes and did the heel.
Then, heart-breakingly, I found out that I couldn't have stilettos in my venue, so I started again.
I had a pair of scarlet and burgundy satin shoes made for me by UpperStreet.
My Shoes (pre-crystals)
Then ordered genuine Swarovski crystals in Siam and Dark Siam and I've started to apply crystals to the bows in Dark Siam now.

Special you can buy heel covers, they do look a bit odd but these are what my guests will have to wear if their heel is smaller than a postage stamp.

I've now finished bow one and started bow two. Once I've done them, I'll do the heels and leave them both to dry for a day before doing the body of the shoes. I'm starting to worry that I'll run out of the darker colour before I finish the heels!

I got the crystals from an online store. I'll pop the link on your wall.
I've now finished the second bow and almost ran out of most of the crystals in that colour. I'm now going to order at least the same number of crystals again for doing the heels.
Thank you all for your reassurance. It's really hard work so having someone tell me that my shoes are pretty really means a lot.

The glue I'm using doesn't adhere to fingers or very smooth surfaces. So it only really sticks to the backs of the crystals and the fabric. Rather handy! So none stuck to my fingers for more than a few instants.
I'm holding off on doing the heels until I've used up all the crystals I've got OR finished doing the lighter part of the shoe, as I don't want to have to place more than one more order (and I'm all out of the colour for the heels which I did the bows with).

WOW they are beautiful, I wanted Ruby slippers too, our colour scheme is Pillar Box Red and Ivory, so I have now brought Red shoes (and my bridesmaids have the same) when I tried my dress on it looks fab having the red shoes poking out :-) xxx
