Have you tried youtube for tutorials? I had basic photography training in my old job and it's all about uplighting the bride. Take them in a room with as much natural light as possible, but try to get the photo's with the light to the side. Maybe get a friend to hold a mirror to the other side to reflect some light back!!

    I agree with OWD.

Very basic tricks - daylight, lots of. Never use a flash. And never photograph against the light but have the object lit from the sides or from photographers direction.

How about some training sessions with the friend who'd do the photos on the day. I know you can't be at the hotel beforehand but try at home where you like the light best, which angles you prefer. I find angles very slighy from above the most flattering whereas if the camera is further down your body half it is very unflattering.

Have you got a friend who is a photographer? Mayne he/she can give you a crash course for a few hours.

Framing is also a thing that makes or breaks a pic I think. But I think you need an eye for this rather than learning it.

And obviously the camera. A camera with a macro function can do close ups - though not all can do this well. I have a fairly old Sony Cybershot and it's good with close-ups.
A camera with an ISO function can handle lower lit rooms better.

These are the basics I find important.

If you have a local college that does photography it might be worth asking if any of the students would take those photo's for you? My daughter is a photography student and she took mine of me getting ready and they turned out great!
Students are always glad of the opportunity to add to their portfolio ;)

Make sure you take loads of pictures, having a digital camera means that after you could get your photographer to do some photoshop magic to them to get that professional edge. My h2b did lots of work on his sisters wedding pics from the guests and created amazing pics by combining the best elements out of 4 or 5 shots of the same thing.
All the tips about lighting and angles still stand, however dont worry about getting the shots!! you need to be enjoying the getting ready to get married and that will lead to the best shots of you as you will be relaxed.

its a computer programme used to edit photos, it is used by professional photographers to create those perfect images you see in magazines.
You can airbrush away all those little imperfections. :-)

Even on a lesser skilled level it's great just to ehance the colour and saturation of the colour. Makes a huge difference.

im more worried about how to angle the photograph for example id love a picture of me putting on some lipp gloss in the mirror but were do you stand the take the picture to make it look sophistcated and elegant?

Everything from slightly above than the target is very flattering but from what side or where exactly the photographer stands depends on the light.

Do you like having your pic taken? Do you know your own angles well? This is with everyone different so I recommend trying it out - personally I like tilting my head slightly down and half profile but ofc the pics should be all natural and not posed. But it helps to know how you feel you look best and how to "find" the light.
