Well i took the plunge today and went to a counter for some make up help - i have never worn foundation so wanted something fairly natural. I then came home and did it myself - honest opinions please!

It's looks lovely, really natural. I hope you don't mind me making a couple of professional suggestions.

One would be to add a touch more powder to the nose, it appears from your pictures that this area may be prone to shining. A primer would stop that, or apply a clay mask the day before the wedding (Patch test it previously to check for allergies obviously!!). If it starts to shine during the day then dab it very lightly with a tissue, or even better the anti-shine patches you can buy.

The second is that I would add a touch of light brown eyeshadow lightly through the eyebrows. Put a small amount on a little eyeshadow brush and brush it over the brows. A pencil may be to harsh for you, especially if you're not used to applying it, so a powder will give a natural effect but add definition. I do eyebrow threading, so eyebrows are an obsession of mine.

I dont mind at all - thats really helpful
I dont really know what im doing with the powder - not even sure if i put any on my nose - but will put a bit more there next time. She suggested not to use a primer as generally my skin is quite dry but i guess a little on my nose wouldnt hurt...?

Ill give the eyebrows a go - but im a bit afraid of eyebrows!

Powder is really simple, take a big brush, swirl it into the powder to ensure the powder spread right across the brush, then tap off the excess. Apply it lightly by brushing it all over, then lightly swirl it into the face, if the brush is fluffy and the powder light then it won't disturb your make-up, but will set it in place. There are primers available for dry skins, but they're a bit harder to find.

You've plenty of time to practice, do it when you've nowhere to go for the first time! If you've got a brow bar, or threader locally then they should be able to tell you how to do it. All the big department stores seem to have them now.
