My auntie has very kindly offered to pay for a chocolate and baileys fountain for our wedding-
Its very generous of her but i just think they are so expensive- has anyone bought there own fountain and used that for a reception?
obviously size will be smaller - i just cant justify all that money on 2 hours of choc! our wedding breakfast is for 125 people extended to 150 evening so we will prob set the fountain up for early evening.
is this a good idea or just hassle?

We got quoted 350 for a baileys choc fountain but that doesn't inc the baileys we would of had to but four bottles, we have paid 295 for a choc fountain with unlimited sweets up to 10 diff options this includes the two people serving up to 5 hours x

im going to do it - i have a medium sized chocolate fountain that ive never used. going to use that - get some chocolate off ebay and then get some skewers and loads of marshmellows. we are going for white chocolate too as H2B doesnt like normal chocolate. i will be checking with the venue though when i go next week to see if its ok - i presume the fountain will need to be PAC tested etc but i can get that done at FIL's work.
its so much money to do it and i personally dont like anything but marshmellows in there anyway - i might do some fudge but not bothering with fruit etc. i can do it for about 150 people for about 30 quid so fingers crossed they will let me x

Yeah it is quite easy to do it yourself; if you buy a chocolate fountain then buy cheap chocolate like Becky said; it should work out cheaper. :)

Just bear in mind, some venues ask you to clear the room after if there is a wedding the next day, we had to do this for my friend, we had to stay behind an extra hour with the bride and pack everything away into cars - not good when your tipsy!!!!
