Been thinking about decorating the function room this weekend have got a price from a local company and they're around £180.00 just for ballons and weights.
I've been and priced DIY balloon kits and can get 30 metallic balloons (in what ever colours i want) with the hellium canistor for £28.00 delivered, have also looked at making our own weights and thought bag of sand, wrapped in foil then wrapped in some purple material that i already have, so for decorating either 10 tables (3 balloons per table) or 15 tables (2 balloons per table) and some random balloons on the floor filled with my hot air would be less than £35
Is this cheap and how hard is it to do your own balloons??? xx

sounds good hun, dont think he would be that hard, depending on what u wanted to do, but u would need to do it either the night before or the morning of just take that in to consideration, when thinking about doing something like that yourself hun, xxx

As i'm doing the buffet i have to go to the venue anyway to set up, thankfully as we're getting married abroad reception night will not be too stressfull to organise as i won't be tied to anything during the day.
I quite like the idea of making the settings myself and from what i recall 10 - 15 tables is more than enough........xx

sounds like a good idea i have some baloons if you are interested originally got them for my venue but as i won the prize wont need them any more

Hi we looked into doing our own balloons but got a cheap quote from my florist so went with her instead. Make sure you get the right size balloons for the size of your helium cannister. Also I was told not to do them the night before as they may not last all the next day and into the evening. xx

I did 15 sets of 3 for my best mates wedding and it wasn't hard it was just a chew on - personally I wouldn't do it I'd out source it to a professional

if my venue didnt do the baloons for me i wud of gone with my wedding cake supplier for the baloons dont think i wud like the stress of doing them myself xx

I work in a shop that does balloons and they're not that hard to be honest. Here are a few tips: *Balloons only last for 6-8 hours. If you want them to last longer or even do them the night before you need to buy a balloon glue called 'high-flowt/float'. A small squirt of this stuff will seal your balloons up and make them last days. * Do mark ups on a wall/table so that all your balloons have the same distance between them and all displays are the same height. *Keep them in normal room temp- too warm they expand and burst, too cold they shrink and shrivel up. *Acount for burst balloons, make sure you have enough balloons to do your displays plius spares and also enough helium.
Just so u know though, C*****n Cards will supply plain balloons blown up, with ribbon and set in display for £1 a balloon/ printed balloons for £1.33 each. You can also just have your own balloons blown up there for around 75p(not quite sure of that price soz) as long as its obviously convenient for you to transport the balloons yourselves. They also put the glue in the balloons so you could always pick them up the day before to take to your venue.

oh, thank you liann, that would be so much easier than having to do it myself, I will contact c-cards and check out their prices (wonder if they have a web page) as for 30 balloons it works out the same price as buying the kits and doing it myself.
