I would love to make my own cake but I am soooo not creative and would sooooo mess it up. Mil2b said she would make it but she will be busy enough. She is going to make us cupcakes for the evening and since we spent waaaaay too much on flowers and more are needed, she is going to do those. Therefore, I would rather get someone else to do it and give her a bit of a break. She would rather do the flowers than the cake anyways and we got a brill deal on it so not too worried. I think it was 250 for a plain cake and she is only charging me 60-80 for the decoration. We nearly fell off our chairs as we expected it to cost a fortune. I actually cried when I saw it thnking I couldnt have it and then the cake make gave us that price. I nearly pranced about for an hour afterwards haha

My diva demand has been that I get my louboutin wedding shoes, (its no longer my H2B saying maybe...ive said definite!) I found the perfect pair and told him it would be cruel for me to have anything but! lol. Other than that I have been fairly reasonable.....I think..... : D xx

think my diva demand might be fireworks...hadn't even entered my head until i saw one of the venues we're considering is on a lake and you can get fireworks at dusk launched from a boat in the middle of the water...would be lovely....but, it is ireland, so it'll probably rain, so maybe not!

bride2013 I'm jealous, my few treats though are a string quartet at church and during welcome drinks, having OH cousin to sing for our 1st dance and a song in French for me and my sister as he is a professional singer who used to live in France, and food as well as we are gonna have fillet of beef wellington as main (my favorite).

My groomzilla wants a ferrari to drive himself to the wedding - £5k deposit! He is having a laugh! I suggested a chaffeur driven one but he didn't like that idea. - but with our budget he'll be lucky if he gets a taxi! x

so far I have planned nothing....but I am seriously considering 2 dresses - one for the day and one for the evening! If I do it I will get cheaper dresses but its stil a bit diva-ish

Maybe a bit but firstly, if you can't be diva-ish on your wedding day when can you be?? And secondly, if your ceremony dress is quite princessy, lots of volume, long train etc., then having a different dress in the evening that's easier to move around in makes sense. If you can get something at a good value price then definitely consider it. On a related note, my cousin is getting married in June and his mum has already bought three outfits! The one she thinks she'll wear, the one she might wear if she decides she doesn't want to wear the first one, and the one to change into after the meal as it's easier to dance in! Overexcited MoG much?!

you'll be pleased to know, well indeed, I am, that w2b has compromised and understands that a helicopter is rather excessive and takes up a HUGE chunk of the budget.

@gdu, I'm planning 2 dresses too. we're having a ceilidh and i want to be able to dance properly.

i wanted to do the same mrsclarke2be but i know if he finds out how much it cost he will by cross and also was working into the conversation the other day what his dream car would be if he could have any car and he doesn't have one lol so give up on that idea now. think my ott bit is my shoes and tiara have gone so much over budget on them both i payed myself and not out the wedding money lol and if you asked h2b then he would say the wedding is ott as he would be quite happy with a trip to the registry office and then home again.

glad I'm not the only one who might have 2 - my reason is partly practicalities and partly not being able to decide what style I want and given I only plan on doing this once I don't think I should have to choose!!

H2B is probably more of a diva than me - after watching an episode of DTTB he wanted a helicopter for a 5 min journey, then he wanted a ferrari, now its to get the Dom Perignon from the hotel on the day which is pricey but no where near the costs of what a ferrari or helicopter would be lol...xx

dom perignon is overated. as are most vintage champagnes. If you want a delicious sparkling to impress your guests, trust me and go with Graham Beck Brut.

My h2b has always known about my shoe obsession so wasn't too surprised when I told him I wanted to wear Jimmy Choo's for my wedding DAY, he was surprised however, when he agreed to buy me the shoes I wanted I said "Excellent! if you're paying for the day Choo's I'll pay for the evening Louboutins". I think there is a part of him that still thinks I'm joking. He he!

I'm with gracelet on the Dom Perignon, it is seriously overrated although I have seen people pretend it's delicious because they know the price tag. If you are having it make sure the bottles are clearly visible to your guests otherwise they won't know any better. x

    I can't wait until 29/06/2013

I didn't really have a diva thing as such - but husband did want an older type car, and we originally booked a Beauford. But I spent months and months nagging him for a VW Camper (I love em lol) - to the point of going along to his workmates 50th birthday party, getting into a conversation with her husband about them - and both of us 'ganging up' on hubby because he'd had a fair bit to drink lol. It worked though and I got my camper!!

I did have my fair share of 'mind changes' when it came to shoes as well - and finished up buying four pairs before I got the 'right' ones lol.!!!

Just asked h2b if he thinks I've been a Diva with anything for the wedding, he says I'm just too laid back and have too much common sense for that sort of thing. I think I've had my Diva moments in that when I can't find the Perfect thing (and I mean Perfect, I don't do second best) I insist on making it myself to my own exacting standards!
