Oh please tell me someone is awake!

My bridesmaids dresses won't be ready on time for my wedding in 23 days I ordered them back in December last year gave measurements and then paid in January with updated measurements.

Was told dresses would arrive 4-6 weeks before hand and they haven't even finished making them yet.

The lady I used has told me she is willing to give me a full refund but I have 6 ladies the largest being size 28 where am I going to get dresses at this short notice?

I've tried eBay they may not arrive till 4 days before the wedding and the girls need shoes and what not! I'm screwed!

Please help I need some where that had Cadbury purple dresses ranging from a size 10 - 28.

I'm honestly so worried! Only this could happen to me!

She said if I can hold out till the 8th she will give me a better idea of when the dresses are going to be ready I said no I can't wait till 2 weeks before my wedding to then find out that the dresses still aren't going to make it in time!

So please please please help me!

To top it all off the suits we've had custom made haven't responded to us either! They want answer the phone!

Where have you ordered the dresses from hun?
That is poor customer service....and they must know that you need longer before the wedding not only for the stress it causes but to see if it will need altering.
Why the hell has it taken from december?!?! i would be making some noise hun!

oh dear, thats terrible, if there any seamstresses in your area, you can get hold of and see if they could make them within the time. I would be asking for compensation on top of the refund tobe able to pay extra to get the dresses made on time if i were you. or look on google for somewhere you can order dresses to be shipped within a short time. sorry im not much help

Could you not go out with your ladies this week/ weekend and possibly beg them to pay for their dresses and explain it to them?
high street shops have got some pretty nice dresses out there atm....what is your theme/ Colour...what sort of thing are you after?
I got mine for B*H*S...and you can wear them 15 different ways, also they can fit a variety of sizes!

id be wanting the refund and the dresses! tell her you need the ones you picked and paid for last year but you'll accept half (if not all) the money back just in case you have to take time out of your hectic schedule to completely change everything at such short notice ;)

Have you thought about taking your bridesmaids to a high street shop and buying maxi dresses? Some can look really beautiful. I'd be kicking up a right fuss! How come its taken so long? Xx

I agree about hitting the high street shops as there is plenty of choice out there.
It may seem like an inconvenience but at least you will have replacements. I'm sure your BMs won't mind paying for their dresses when you explain the situation.

I would be kicking,up the biggest fuss ever!!! You poor thing (( hugs ))xxxx

The bridesmaids have paid for their own dresses anyway. The lady is in Scotland. I may be ringing a local seamstress to do it see if they can match the £120 price they have already paid.

Hey I was typing to you on chat then realised you'd gone offline lol.

I'll pop 2 links on your wall. One is just the website the other is a dress that might suit. They say they do sizes 12-32 but the dress I found started at a size 10 so it might be suitable. They also do next day delivery but it all depends on your budget if this website suits I guess lol.

Will she be able to finish any of them? Maybe if they could turn their hand to the more difficult to find sized dresses and finish those and hit the high street for the remaining dresses? I'm sure you could find something lovely to co-ordinate.

I'd not pay anymore than cost for any dresses completed, if that! I would really be wanting them for free for the stress caused. It's disgusting that you're being let down like this!

Disgusting! I'd be writing some reviews if she has a website and wanting compensation as well as a full refund. I agree with the others that hitting the high street may be the best option. There are also often bm dress ideas in the monthly wedding mags and a lot of them seem like they have a good range of sizes.

    Good luck hun xxx

I've put a link to B*H*S on your wall they have some in the sale and i'm sure you order online they can get them to you quickly, however they only go to 22

also put another link to another store which i think Vintage Chic has put a link to already they have some dresses that would be fine. as for shoes, just get silver to go with them as you really can't go wrong, again i would recommend B*H*S or Barratts

I would agree with canyouspellthat, maybe see if they can finish the size 28 that you ordered, and then find high street dresses in another colour. There are high street shops that do shoes for £5 -£10. Not best quality but they only need to last the day. Silver or Ivory will go regardless of dress colour.

Thanks everyone for you suggestions :) I have been to london today and have 6 dresses!

The one is a 26 but she said she will do whatever it takes to get in to it.

    :) so pleased

The suit company have also answered the phone and said the suits are made excluding best mans waist coat which was made in the wrong size so that's being remade

Light is at the end of this tunnel!l

Fab news about getting new dresses! Hope you're writing a strongly worded letter of complaint! If the new dresses cost more, she should be making up the difference. How they can't be ready yet from December is just astounding.

This is terrible! I'm glad you managed to get to London to get an alternative sourced and bought. When you get your refund from her, you should also claim for the train fare to London (at least) as well as loss of earnings for the day that you had to take to come down. x

Could you maybe try a department store? Or maybe a dress maker? Or two dress makers?!

FIrst of all relax! There's always a solution.

A lot of cacatalogue stores do dresses in a range of sizes! You could dress them in similar shades different dresses if that makés it easier?! What colour were they and wha. styLe?
