I was at work today (in my cousin's sandwich shop) and after making the soup I was pouring it into the warmer, when some splashed up and scalded my neck. It's right in the centre, where the neck joins the chest. It blistered and burst straight away. I'm in a panic now as I get married 2 weeks on Sat and the last thing I want is a ruddy big mark on my neck!! I got some cream from the pharmacist this afternoon which has taken the sting away but does anyone have any tips for reducing the redness and avoiding scars?? x

Get bio oil on it it reduces the effects of scarring

maybe some burns gel to stop it hurting you

    hope that helps x

hopefully you will find this helpful...
i have ulcers on my legs which scar and when open, are similar to burns and i use a cream called flamazine which is really good for the healing process, its soothing and minimises damage to the skin. its only available on prescription though but if you cant get to a doctor, use any type of cream with silver in it. i think savlon do one which i suppose will do the same thing as the flamazine. if you end up with scars, i have an AMAZING camoflage cream/make up for the scars on my legs, but again is only on prescription or to buy online (v expensive) and takes ages to be assesed for it, but if your concious of it, id be happy to send you a bit in the post as i get it for free!
    hugs xx

Pure Lavender essential oil! It's absolutely fantastic for burns. See if you can find a local aromatherapist that can give you some tomorrow and put some on ASAP will clear it up a treat. Big hugs for the pain too xx

Plenty of moisturiser, I agree the bio-oil, lavendar and aloe are the best, although I have never used bio oil. I go through buckets of pure essential lavender oil, and have a fresh aloe plant.
If you can't get hold of any in a hurry - olive oil, I know its to cook with but I use it on my hands when they're dry and scaly.

I would use a cream or gel 4-5 times a day, just keep gently rubbing it in, then have a lavender bath every night, and then use a very oily greasy cream overnight.

Lavender is great, but it can irritate if used neat - if you can't get to speak with a homeopath/ aromatherapist, always water it down, 6-8 drops in a bath is fine.x

    I'm now a married woman
    I have a gorgeous husband
    Whats to do now
Theres no more wedding planning to do

I agree with the people who said aloe vera, that's good for burns and somebody said silver, which is antiseptic and will help prevent any infection that could slow down healing.

Most importantly don't panic - even if the very worst happened and it was still angry and red on the day, remember you won't be thinking about it at the time, and you can get it photoshopped out of the pictures after.

When my ex set himself on fire (long story) he hospital told him to use concentrated vitamin e cream to stop if from scaring. He also had some bandages that were covered in something special that he had to have over the blisters etc for a while. It may pay you to go and see your doctor to see if there is anything they can do for you. Whatever you do don't burst the blisters or it may become infected. Hope that you manage to get yourself sorted.

Just for future reference if you ever do anything like that again you need to run it under cold water for at LEAST 10 minutes. Most people make the mistake of doing it for a couple of minutes thinking that is enough when it isn't. Its one of the first things you learn in first aid as you need to get all the heat out rather than just from the surface area.

I agree with TattieSoup though that it will be easy to photoshop out if it shows on your photos. If you photographer charges you do to it then I can always sort that out for you :)

You should also keep a wet flannel on it to reduce any swelling and then put all your creams or ointments on. And if there is still a mark on the day then make up artists are amazing at cover ups! Hope it goes away for you though, sounds sore! x

Wow, thanks for all your suggestions girls.
I have continued with the Acriflex today and it has really taken the heat out of it. It looks smaller today but still very red. Will try with the oils you have suggested to help with the scarring.
    Thanks again... xx
