We found a lovely lady to sing at our wedding and we had spoke about her teaching me to sing ( she teaches singing) so that I could surprise my oh with a song or two on the wedding day. I was really excited and hadn't told anyone as thought be a nice surprise as neither of us can dance lol. But when my oh was looking through the song list she sent across he swipped back and saw the message about the songs so now he knows ;( I am annoyed and upset now as was something I was going to surprise him with but now he knows I think what's the point!?

It would still be a nice thing to do and he doesn't have to know which song you choose.

I think it would still be a nice thing to do if you want to do it :) like Katie said, he won't know which song you choose and it'll mean so much more on the day than just the thought of it will mean. Will also be a surprise for your guests x

That's true although I'd like a song that either means something to him or he'd love so will need to ask him ideas now. I couldn't talk to him for an hour after he told me he had found out as i was so disappointed the surprise was ruined as its only suprise I had for him so guna have to think of something else now. Am still going to have singing classes and might do a song but i not a huge one for limelight n the fact it was a surprise would have been one thing keeping me on track for doing it. Any song ideas?

Thanks for closing the other post I dont know why it double posted and couldn't find a way of getting rid of it lol

He knows I'm going for singing lessons so will know there a chance of me signing something. I haven't mentioned it to anyone except my mum as ran it by her before I wanted to do it. Just so disappointed that the surprise was ruined although am glad he told me rather than pretending til afterwards. X

You could possibly sing during some point in the ceremony. He's more than likely expecting it later in the day. So maybe earlier would be a nice, seen some brides sing during thier entrance on ut.

You're so brave! I'm an amateur singer and have sung solos to some pretty big crowds, but at my wedding?! eek!

Thing is like others have said, he won't know what one you are going to do. Or you could ask her for some more songs.

Maybe you could ask him if he'd like to sing something with you and you can both surprise your guests with it!

Now that he knows, he might be more disappointed if you don't do it because he will be so looking forward to it. I think it sounds like a lovely idea so go for it and have lots of fun learning and performing the song you choose. X

MrsK2b if I'm honest I'm freaking out about it I think I need to be very confident with my song n the voice before I defiantly do it, I don't usually in ur face things but wanted to as a surprise but now its not a surprise don't know if it be a weird thing to do now

I think it's a lovely thing to do hon, my friends husband had lessons and sang during their first dance. Nobody knew anything bout it except her and his best man. Without wanting to sound rude, he doesn't have the best voice, but that didn't matter a jot as it was such a romantic (and brave!) thing to do that it didn't matter if he hit a bum note occasionally lol, I thought it was a fab thing for him to do.I say go for it hon! Xx

I'm impressed that you're prepared to do it. I play the flute professionally and have trained to grade 8 standard as a singer but wouldn't have performed on my wedding day, as I would have had no idea whether I would get emotional or not. I did walk in to a recording of myself playing the flute, but I couldn't have walked in actually playing as I would have kept hitting the guests with the end of the flute.

I'm worried that I will get emotional so have started double thinking myself especially as it would be after food so would spend all the meal thinking s**t what am I about to do haha so am starting my singing classes in next few weeks and will see how I get on and would want to hear myself first then will decide for sure. Guess now he knows I can talk to him about how I'm feeling but wouldn't tell him what song it will be if I do x
