I have a piper to pipe the guests in as it's such a long walk through the gardens I thought they could follow the sound, lol. On the day, our children, grandchildren etc are the bridesmaids, ushers etc and will be walking ahead of me in couples. Now, do I have the piper pipe me in or do I go in to music? I love 'The Wedding' by Julie Rogers but I have people saying "oh you must be piped in it will be amazing" others have said the opposite. Now I don't know what would be best so, I'm gonna let you girls make the decision for me. What would you do girls do? I am stuck at what to have and I need to know cos if it's music my band will bring an extra P.A system, Confused.com :os x

Na I don't think it'd be too loud but I've never stepped foot in a green house! But I'd say go for it!

used to work in a hotel where they had a whole pipe band come in and play to the guests after dinner. It was amazing! And that was a whole band so think you will be ok with a piper

We had the pipes when we came out of church, and when we arrived at the reception, then was piped into the meal. So there are plenty of other opportunities for pipes if you have an entrance song you really like! (He played when the guests were arriving at the church as well.)

That's the thing I'm really torn, I want both, lol but that can't happen. Can anyone suggest a nice piece of music to be played on the pipes for such an occasion? What did you have Dove? x

When I was thinking of being piped in (if we couldn't source the organ music I wanted) I was going to have Maries Wedding (well, my name is Marie...)

Yay Dove! I was looking on YouTube for Marie's Wedding when I came across another piece called 'Hyferdol' (Love Divine) and I love it! Thank you ladies, by talking it through with you I have reached a decision, I have emailed my piper and told him that's the tune I would like. This is what UK bride is all about, thanks again :o) xxx

I live near the south downs and sometimes when I would take the dog out I would hear bagpipes. It was a bit spooky and I actually thought that maybe I was going a bit mad as why the hell would their be Scottish bagpipes playing on a Sussex hill. One day I had some friends round and one drunkenly admitted she had heard the pipes, another couple owned up too. It seems there is a local man who goes up onto the downs to practice in the evening so he doesn't disturb any one!
Got married 11/11/11.

They are quite haunting aren't they? Especially if you heard them the way you did, I think I would have freaked, lol x

Oooh yes please! I actually found one I like called Hyferdol (Love divine) but I would love to listen to that one before I decide. I also dont know if we will be allowed to play it cos it's a hymn and nothing religious is allowed at civil ceremonies but it's only the tune, gotta find out xx
