    Has anyone seen in the recent celeb mags about Sarah Harding putting Charchol onto her food... well was reading and it apparently can help with weight loss!! Has anyone tried it or going to?? (i've started this morning on the Capsules.. only £2.99 so not expensive!) Apparently it has similar effects as Alli (if anyones heard of that??!) Really need to go running but i hattteee!!! hate hate running!!! 5 months til the big day and only 4 months til my final dress fitting!!! I'm 5ft 7 and am 9stone 11 - really would love to get to between 9stone > 9.6lb! any tips anyone??! lost nearly 1stone on weight watchers last year and am counting points again now!!!

    I miss running and karate! I smashed up my knee snowboarding a few months ago so can't do any high impact stuff for quite a while. I'm swimming and going to pilates in an attempt to keep the weight down but more importantly keep my muscles toned. I can stay the same weight but change dress sizes because my stomach / legs aren't toned... which they REALLY aren't at the moment! Also trying to eat less bread and stuff, which is much easier now the weather's better... feel in more of a veggie / salad mood when it's summer!
    If you hate running have you tried a good old power walk? You just have to be going fast enough to make you slightly out of breath (so it's difficult to have a conversation at the same time) to be at a really good level for burning calories.
    I find the biggest help is getting my friends to join in, it's always harder to do things on your own!

    Need to loose 14lb in 4 weeks.
    Just picked my dress up from having it shortened and I have gained weight and can't do it up round the waist.

    In need of a serious short term weight loss regime.

    You could use a waist cincher perhaps if need be?

    Might be the answer. Don't know whats wrong with me just sooo bloated atm. I had been doing so well plenty of vegetables, salad and fish and chicken. Stopped eating potatoes of any kind also stopped eating processed foods . I was late having my contraceptive injection and stomach just ballooned as a result. Haven't stepped on the scales recently as I'm sure all my dieting efforts have gone to waste. 6 weeks ago the waist on the dress was a little tight and I guessed maybe 4lb more loss would be perfect.

    Sometimes it's just water weight - have you tried something to reduce the amount of water your holding? Failing that, they say drinking lots of water, daft as it seems, can help flush it through and stop you stockpiling it...

    Just had a look for water retention tablets as I had a pack upstairs from ages ago. Must of got rid of them but think its definitely worth while getting some more. Thanks Kizzy.

    Just been reading up on charcoal in diets. Can't find anything that says it actually helps with weight loss. It's main benefits seem to be it absorbs toxins in the body and may reduce flatulence, though doesn't seem proven. So maybe Miss Harding has been sprinkling it on her lettuce leaf.

    Had to add this final comment from a physician. Made me chuckle

    A physician's comment..

    Charcoal in small or moderate amounts is safe and can be tried in cases of bloating and flatus. However, its only known action is to actively bind up certain chemicals and gases. The likely effect will be to reduce the offensive odor of rectal gas. Do not expect it to reduce the amount of rectal gas.

    Hi.x Im simular sized to you and when i put on over half a stone over christmas i followed my own routine of;
    *3 sets meals a day- a healthy breakfast, a bigger lunch (pasta, jacket potato)folled by a light tea (salad and chicken, chicken and rice, stir fry)
    * Snack on fruit or low fat snacks
    * Dink 2ltrs of water a day
    * icrease your exercise regime, even if its just by an extra 10mins a day...
    By cutting out the crap, eating 3good meals a day and snacking on the right foods, the odd pizza or chocy bar wont matter, I lost about 8 lbs by folling somthing simular, I belive a lot in home cooking too (you no whats goin in) as oppose to weight watcher one man meals etc. x good luck x

    Haha.. eating charcoal to help with weight loss is way up there with starving yourself for one of the most stupid things I have heard regarding dieting.

    There's no proof that this actually works. What is called 'Activated Charcoal' absorbs toxins in the body and is quite often used for emergency treatment of poisoning and drug overdoses but in regards to weight loss your better off eating healthily and exercising than relying on a silly fad diet.

    Oh my god, silly question but why on earth does Sarah Harding need to diet? Hope she's not going the same way as Cheryl
