Went for the night shift post at my work and i was sooooo nervous!!
Four of us went for two posts.
Im trying to keep positive about it and telling myself that the only reason i didnt get it was because two people who are aleady on night shift got them and that they would have had to replace me on days so decided against having me.
I know i am more than capable of doing the job and everyone said i was the best candidate for the job!
I did have someone in my interview that doesnt much like me though so i just wonder whether shes had some influence in me not getting the post,
We were suppose to be told on friday if we got the job but nothing.
Got to work this morning and she arrived at the same time as me and i said good morning and tried to make general chitty chat conversation as we walked in together and she completely blanked me! Said nothing.....
Then when i get home i have a letter with a big fat UNSUCCESSFUL AFTER INTERVIEW at the top of the page... She knew fine it said that and didnt say anything just completely ignored me! I was soooo angry and upset when i read my letter!
It wasnt the biggest thing but its knocked my confidence right down now! Just seems like every time I try better myself in my profession all i do is get knocked back!

aww try not to let it get you down :( I know its knocks your confidence but you just gotta get back out there and go for the next one, I had to go for a few promotions before I finally got one and all it did was help me out for the next interview as I knew what to improve on :) chin up hun x

Dont let her get to you the same thing happened to me but in the end im the one smiling as the job i got offered isnt working shifts or weekends just 9-3 Monday to Friday. The other girl didnt want to apply as she thought it would be hard work. The best thing is i have it easy no working Christmas or New Year either. Just keep your head up and keep trying there is obviously something better out there for you xxxx

Im looking into applying for ILA (its something in scotland that you can get up to £200 towards studying if you make £22,000 or less a year) and going for my SVQ out with work using a home study thing if i can. I didnt wanna do the day shifts as some people at my work are just running straight to management with the slightest little thing its so childish! My friend went for the only day shift one and didnt get it either, she said shes relieve coz she wont have to watch for knives in her back, she was doing the post temp for 6 months and didnt get the job so dont think i will be applying for the next day one!

I got ILA funding this year and recommend applying for it - took 2 weeks for mine to be approved and now doing a sign lanuage course x

Bless you, you'll get it eventually. I'm assuming you're in healthcare?? I am, it's taken me six years to get half way where I want to be!! You just need to keep showing your willing... I've been doing the nightshifts for the £££ and it's killing me! I'm in on a night tonight :(

Oh, sorry to hear that. I know how much you wanted it. I'm not defending the person on the panel...but just tosay, from a Managers point of view...I interviewed an internal candidate a few years back who was unsuccessful and I felt really bad about it and couldn't bring myself to talk to him. that coupled with the fact that I wasn't allwed to say anything to him until after he'd officially been told made it even more awkward. Finally, to top it off, he knew he was the only candidate we were interviewing so I think there was an expectation that he'd get the job, but he just wasn't up to it. I was just really embarressed about it all. Going back to you though, it's always horrible to get knocked back for something that you're so sure is the right thing for you. Ask for feedback fromt he panel - you're entitled to that at least. That way, if it is a skill you're missing, then you can ask your manager to send you on some training so you're better placed for the next one, which I'm sure is just around the corner babe. Hx

My manager is on holiday as of yesterday so i will ask him when he comes back. Only other person that interviewed me i dont wanna talk to.
This is the same lassy that ignored me yesterday morning.
One day a few months ago two of us were out with 2 service users doing their weekly shop, there had been road works taking ages so i decided lets go to the supermarket in the next town along (only 15mins away and no traffic) just happened to be the town where the other staff memeber lived. We did their shopping and headed straight back.
Next day the lassy that was interviewing me came up to the other staff member and said claire was in your house yesterday! I know. Im psychic She never mentioned a word of it to me or asked me just said it to the other staff member.
We went no where near her house.
It just scares me that if she truely believes that what else is she spreading about other people because she believes she is pyschic???

hunni at ;east you had an interveiw ...... there was a post that i applied for about a year ago ,within school ....they didnt even give me the courtesy of interviewing me ...... and i didnt even get a letter telling me that until after interview date !!!!!
