hi all i was just wondering for all of you who are having/have had a church wedding, did you get to choose which vows you want? we had an apointment with the vicar the other day and we thaught that it might be to choose our vows and go through the ceremony in detail but all that happened was the vicar was on about making our marraige work, give and take and why we wanted a church wedding. basically and that was it. now the next time we see her again will be at the rehersal 2 days before the wedding! doo you just get standard vows when you have a church wedding? confused :s

It depends on the vicar. The CoE website has information about planning your ceremony, readings & hymns. Perhaps you can have a look at that and then recontact your vicar to discuss what you want in your wedding. I'll put the link on your wall.

We are marrying in a CofE church and he told us that there is one set of vows but it is up to us if we want the traditional old english version or the modern english version. Other than that you dont get a choice of what the actual vows say with a church wedding xxx
