i ordered my dress yesterday and was so pleased as i left the shop but now i'm home all i keep thinking is "is it the right one", "is it better than the others" and is driving me mad and its not even been 24 hours!

i went with a totally different dress to the ones in my album the one everyone loved for whatever reason i didnt want to rush out and order it and as i'm really impulsive when buying stuff it made me think its not the one, i'm not really emotive either so found finding a dress hard. There was also a fear with dress option 2 in my albums that h2b had seen it (my stupid friend showed him the photo on my phone needless to say me and my friends lunged for it and he says he didnt really see it)

i dont have photos :( as the shop dress didnt fit i spent more than planned and i think my mum liked the other dress more and im so confused :( i just wanna cry and have someone else decide for me

i think i'm just being stupid and it's just as nice as i remember am planning on losing some weight and going back to show my bridesmaids later in the year has anyone else felt like this?

sorry for the winge i dont want to tell h2b incase he moans that i shouldnt have bought it.

A tough one. I was in a similar situation to you. I tried on my first ever dress, loved it, but something was making me indecisive about it. I then went out and tried on about 15 more dresses before ordering one. I was on my own when I made that decision and decided a while ago that I'd got the wrong one as I still wasn't happy about 3 months after ordering. My BM told me she thought the one I'd gone for was lovely but I just wasn't sure about how it made me feel.

How does the one you've ordered make you feel? Did you have anyone with you when you were in the shop? Can you go back and take someone else with you whose opinion you trust? Maybe your mum AND a BM? The first thing I would do though is call the shop and explain the situation. You definitely won't be the first bride they've ever seen who's having dress wobbles :) but if you can explain the situation before they've even placed the order then you'll be better placed than three months down the line.

It's entirely possible that you'll go back in, try it again (bear in mind also that a dress that's the wrong size will always look a bit odd) and think "actually, yes, it's the right one and I love it!". However, if you don't, it's not the end of the world. You've got plenty of time to sort it out. Just take a couple of people whose opinion you trust and tell them that they need to be honest with you.

You say you're not particularly emotive - me either. I was waiting for the goosebumps and tears when I found "the one" but they never came. I've found "the one for me" but I didn't get overly emotional about it (apart from kicking myself when I went back and bought it four months and another ordered dress later...) so I would personally recommend not basing your decision 100% on that :)

Go with how it makes you feel :). Good luck!

I still have doubts about my dress ... I was looking at a photo of me in it (all finished) the other day, and I thought I didn't look great ... it doesn't make me feel the same as when I have it on. Still, nothing I can do about it now! And to be honest when I do have it on all I have is a massive grin on my face xx

ok. I brought my dress early and after being adament I wasnt having a princess dress, mum asked me to put one on, i loved it, brought it, came home and thought OMG what have I done. I was going on about it for ages to check I hadnt made a huge mistake and started watching all these wedding dress programmes and luckily i couldnt find a dress I liked better. I then went into the shop and asked to try it on again and to be honest, I fell in love with it all over again and wondered why I had been so silly to question my decision. The other brides in the shop couldnt stop saying how nice it was which helped and now even though away from the dress i have the occasional niggle, i keep thinking back to that feeling of falling in love with the dress over again. try to keep ahold of that feeling and look forward to wearing your dress again. To be honest, its like when we buy a car and we think ooo that one is better. It might be but you would then find an even better one again and chances are they would be out of our budgets etc. I think it will be fine. TRY to relax and enjoy the rest of your planning x

I made my final decision when I was on my own too, and really started to doubt myself, but then went back for my first fitting and loved it! I think it's difficult because there are soo many lovely dresses so you're always going to wonder if there's something better out there! I would give yourself a bit of time, try to forget about it for a bit, and then go back to try it again with a clearer mind. Will be fine :)

i've been thinking long and hard this morning about it an i think its the "pressure" of getting the 1 and i think you girls are right n what you've all said

ive put a deposit on the dress but its not ordered until i given them 50% so if i feel really bad i could change it to a different one i guess the deposit ive given just holds the 15% discount they offered me.

i went with my mum and i think my prob is my mum said she liked the dress but i know she really liked the 1st dress i tried although when she went back she thought it was a different colour which it wasnt i just wasnt as tanned which i wont be on the day, theres nothing i'm worrying about the actual dress i bought but more what my mum thinks she didnt get teary or anything but i think her dress was on her mind as she was also trying on and needs hers by this nov.

the shop have said i can go back and try on again and get photos etc cause they were closing as i bought and i'd already kept them half hour over closing lol.

i think i'm over thinking it and just need to draw a line over it now and go back with my bm's in a few months to do rest of deposit and will have hopefuly lost some weight so sample will fit better

thanks for all your comments and advice you've all made me feel better about it :) ish lol xxx

I havn't bought my dress yet but i have found the one i want. I'm ordering in december. I have tried quite a few others but i still love that one. When i tried it on it made me cry i was sooo happy with it.. lol.. Even tho i have tried so many others i have gone back and tried that one again and i have the same feeling as i did the first time i tried it on.. Why dont you ask the shop if they have one that would fit you so you can try it again??? It may reassure you.. Just a thought.. :)

I put a deposit on mine a couple of weeks ago and really not 100% about it. It needs a lot changing but I can't picture the finished thing, it doesn't really feel like 'the one' when I wear it. It was a sale one, £200 under my budget so felt pressured to get it, but starting to regret it now because I would rather have looked around a bit more first.

i keep on having these thoughts! I have the dress at home and it is too big, the lady wont alter it until september in case i change shape. When i put it on and it is pulled to fit me i think yes its lovely, when i take it off and its hanging up i get these thoughts, my mum has said well if i dont like it we need to sort it now so i have time to get another, thing is though i am not sure. When it fits it maybe lovely i just dont know what to do!

    Yes Me!!

I loved my dress when in the shop...
I loved it when i went back a few months later to try it on...

Then i wanted to try it on one more time, and the doubt creapt in.... I wanted it altered so i could wear a ring underneath to make it more fuller at the bottom... The dress maker said she could do it, but i would need a brand new skirt bit... and would cost alot... i said ok...

Then when i went for my final fitting where they have told me i need two inches taken in... BUT.................. i have again decided that i really love it without the new skirt so im not changing it...
i really hope i dont change my mind again in a couple of weeks lol

I ordered mine last April - then started having doubts lol. It didn't help that it took 6 months to arrive at the shop. I picked it up last October after trying it (and it felt great once it was on even though it's too big).

It's now been at my parents since October, and I've still had doubts - probably because I haven't tried it since. I even checked it once I got it home just to make sure it was the actual one I'd ordered (how's that for paranoid lol).

I've having my first fitting on the 27th of May so hopefully I'll feel better again once it's on (and even better once it fits properly).

I think it's normal to have doubts hun - it's drilled into B2B's that it is the most important dress they'll ever wear, and that they're know when it's 'the one', so I think too much expectation is put on it, and you worry that you've not made the right choice. As long as you like the dress, feel comfortable in it, feel beautiul in it etc, then don't compare it to any others - just judge the dress for what it is. (And I'm sure you'll look gorgeous in whatever you wear) x

Wish I could say the same, Sarah. I have done numerous photoshops on mine to try and see what it will look like but can't judge from that if it's the right one. It didn't help that the shop was tiny so don't even know what the train looks like properly because there was no space to spread it all out. Would put the photoshopped pics up on here but they look very dodgy!
