I have been told by several people that I will lose weight naturally before the wedding due to the stress and excitement of it all. Maybe not loads of weight but some. I was curious to know if this was really true and wondered if any of the new wives on here lost weight in this way? I figured this was the best place to find out :o) xx

I had less time to snack the couple of weeks before. But wouldn't say the weight loss was noticeable through that.

It was all toning. Plus the dress was lace up. Also have the fittings a few weeks before if it does need tweaking.

Holy fairies! That's a lot of pounding, lol. Don't think I could manage that. I have just bought a cross trainer, figured it was low impact good aerobic excercise, hopefully I can achieve something with that xx

You must be quite fit to achieve those distances? I'm an old crumbly, lol, gotta be low impact but, the cross trainer is knackering. I'm that unfit I managed a whole four minutes, haha but, I hope as time goes on that will increase xx

Admittedly I have been competitive runner since I was 11.

But I started from nothing last Christmas. Managed 20minutes the first day.

What you need to do is set a small increased target each time. But don't beat yourself up if you don't meet it. At least with a cross trainer you can't be put off by weather.

That's what I'm talking about Spooney! Maybe it's true for some brides ?

Aha! Competitive runner, now I don't feel so bad, lol. I do feel a bit of an idiot just doing 4 minutes but I figure the more I do it the better target times I'll get! At least that's the plan. I'm really gonna go for it after Christmas. I may come to you for tips if that's ok? xx

Lala a funny fat for you... you will burn the same amount of calories walking to work as running to work, as its the distance not the pace that counts.

I'm not even thinking about losing weight over Xmas but will make a conscious effort before my first dress fitting in April. I think whatever I am in April will be how I will stay till the wedding July. Don't want the dress to wear me. i want to wear my dress.

You may know that stress has been lined with many health problems and can make existing problems worse. It's likely that even more consequences of stress will be uncovered as further research is done. Some experts go as far to say that most illnesses are partially if not completely caused by stress. That's certainly a reason to make us think about ways to manage the stress in our lives.

Some people become very aggressive when dealing with stress, while others bury it inside. Neither response is good for our health or well-being,but it's good to notice if you're doing either of these. People, who all of a sudden explode, are the ones who have kept everything bottled up. People who are more like Type A personalities,on the other hand, tend to lose their tempers, yell or blame others when they feel frustrated. This is a matter of individual temperament, but the best approach is to learn how to reduce the stress rather than keeping it to yourself or lashing out at others.

One area that stress can make itself felt is in muscle tightness, joints and ligaments. Stress can contribute to tension in various parts of our bodies, which can lead to discomfort and tightness. Problems such as neck or shoulder stiffness, for instance, can be due to tensing up these parts of the bodies when you feel stress. If the place you hold tension is your lower back,it's likely that you'll be one of the numerous people who complains of back problems. This isn't to say that all muscle problems are due to stress -sometimes you just moved something the wrong way. With chronic muscle and joint problems, however, stress often plays a part. Regardless of the cause,a massage or adjustment at the hands of a chiropractor can help these issues.

I thought this was a load of rubbish and I'm now less than 3 weeks to my wedding. I have the worst bridesmaids in the history of bad bridesmaids and have had the worst time planning the wedding from having an operation, losing my job and my wedding dress itself getting held up in customs waiting for paperwork from the designer who forgot to include it!! So i was eating a lot and i mean like a full bar of chocolate and 5 bags of crisps for breakfast kinda eating. So i was a little nervous my dress wouldn't fit but i went for my fitting last week and the dress actually needs taking in! Somehow, despite all my stress eating etc, i managed to drop weight in anyways! Deffo not a myth lol
