Hi all, I made a start on designing the invites tonight, problem is, the ideas I had in my head are in reality not turning out so great! We don't really have any money set aside for the invites, I have access to a printer, heaps of cream card, blue paper, lots of doileys, blue ribbon and blue paper flowers... was hoping to create something beautiful from this! Any of you crafty ladies out there have any ideas for me? Would love to see pictures of any that you have created for inspiration! Thanks :)

Have a look n both Pintrest and etsy. They are fantastic for giving you photographs of invitations others have made, and can be a good starting point. I've ordered card, ribbons and lace that I'm waiting for delivery and then I'm going to trial some. Good luck!

What style do you like? If pocket folds are your thing, I have got a few templates you could try out? Mock a few up of different styles and just have a play - you'll probably find 'your' look :)

i would probably go for the type that fold 2 sides into the middle, head has gone blank at the minute, a doilie stuck inside with the blue paper overlay saying all your important details. close with the blue ribbon all the way around and a blue paper flower in the bottom corner. x x

I think poppy is right, have a go at a few different styles, look on the net for ideas. Then put a few pics in your album and we can advise from there! Also I looked at some good free printable invite templates online if you google wedding chicks you'll find it. Keep it simple is the key, otherwise it's a mare to make them all. Keep us posted on your progress. xx
I'm making my own invites to and have checked out loads of websites for invite ideas as well as Facebook and have adapted my ideas so as not to copy anyone's work but its great for inspiration

Instead of having the folds keep it simple just all our information on one cad with the RSV at the bottom have your ribbon make a bow in the middle of the invitation or too the side and you can put blue paper flowers on the corners or even on the bow I'm thinking should I attempt to make pocket folds when I get my crafting gear or am I giving myself to much to do?? =D <3 X

Thanks for your advice ladies :) I do love the pocketfold invites but I fear it will be making too much work for myself! I just looked at yours lala buni, they're are gorgeous! Will have a second attempt tonight bearing in mind your ideas, will post pics up once I have designed something that I'm happy with! Thanks again Xx

Why don't you do a simple one fold - then use the blue paper as the insert and then a blue ribbon across the front with a little flower in the centre?

as I've been doing mine I have found simple works better, I am doing a lot of layering and using the works printer with a little bit of stamping. photos in my album

Lol! Kelly I was gutted when I realised my work printer wouldn't take the size card i'd choosen!! I was banking on that little freebie! doh! x
Were going for pocketfolds and they honestly arent as difficult as I thought! I found a template and made a mock up invite and it was fairly straightforward. The measurements take a while but once you have one template its easy :) we're using coloured card for the actual invite and then white stock card to be the inserts. X

H2B is making ours on photoshop, I wouldn't have a clue how to do things like designing invites.
