J I was able to book my registrar the same day as I booked my venue. I had to pay £25 but knew it was secured and then a year before I had to do my notice etc but knew my date was already reserved so wasn't worried x

    Congratulations Hun.

It really does fly by though. Try end enjoy as much as you can and remember to take non wedding time with your hubby to be.

I still feel excited every time I look at my invitation sample and that arrived months ago. :)

O Right, I thought that you had to wait until a year b4 to book as well as give notice. In that case i'll give them a ring and see if I can get it booked, thanx for the info zowie & NavyBaby x

Wow congrats hun. Now for major planning!! I'm not doing anymore planning until the New Year now though cuz I don't want to do it all at once and have nothing left to occupy me! Have fun xx

I've thought that as well JennaLouise but then I sat and wrote a list of everything that needs to be done and I'm not wasting a second! It might be different for me as H2B is in the Navy and works away so if I have an idea or see something I like, I refuse to do anything without his approval (not approval but you know what I mean!) so everything takes twice as long!

I'm looking forward it! Dress shopping again at the beginning of December...early xmas day out for me and the girls :) x

We got a wedding planner for the engagement party and its become like a little bible...I carry it everywhere and jot bits down if I'm speaking to different people or see something for inspiration. They're so handy!

Haha! We're lucky that our whole day is at the same venue! What kind of thing are you looking for? A friend of mine got married on a budget and had their reception in a community centre, the price was very reasonable and the couple that ran it were so helpful! Might be worth looking at.

Or failing that, finding a village hall etc and stocking your own bar. (I'm a Licencee and if you're selling the alcohol, you'll need a Temporary Events Notice that any licencee can obtain for you. If not, you dont need a licence at all, just someone to serve it!)

    Hope it helps!x
