EDIT MODS PLEASE DO NOT POST ACTUAL COMPANY NAMES IN THE TITLES OF POSTS AS IT IS DEAMED AS ADVERTISING, THIS HAS BEEN AMENDED FOR YOU ON THIS OCCASSION THANKS

John Lewis 2 - 0 Debenhams haha looks like John lewis at the moment!
Its incase anything goes wrong like the venue closes down you can claim your money back or if anything happens to your wedding dress you can get money back, just depends on the type of cover you get but i just dont have a clue who to go with and trust x

Not sure you are allowed to say the names as they are as technically advertising but we are thinking of going with D-hams.

oh i never really thought of it as advertising to be honest i was just wanting peoples opinions and reviews on the two to help me choose so not really advertising i shouldnt think well i hope not x

We used Money Supermarket to compare the best deals and cover. They tend to give more options and choices and levels of cover.

You need to look at the specifics and exactly what it covers
sorry cant help much with this one. we went with e and l as it covers military weddings x

I didnt go with any!! Do i have to? Like i have to car insurance? xx

I really need to get insurance like definitely because the venue we have chosen has a tendency to change owners and sometimes close down (i know its stupid going with a place like this but its sooo nice!), we already have paid the deposit, so really need to get insurance before anything else is paid, but its so hard to choose! x

Princess2Be you dont have to have it. its to cover if your venue or suppliers go bust and means that way you can get your deposits etc back. Also covers if any main contributors to the wedding get ill then they will cover the cost of rescheduling etc. also for us it covers if H2B gets posted anywhere or goes on tour to afghan etc then it covers cost of rescheduling.
but as you are not far off getting married Princess2Be im not sure how relevant it would be for you. mine only covers so much ££ for purchases that have already been made before policy was taken out (i think it says purchases up to £1000 before insurance was taken out). mine was only one off payment of about £30 for up to 15,000 wedding. its done on how much money you want to cover x

Becky .. is that £15,000 per item though? Mwedding insurance is mostky for suopliers letting you down for ehatever reason and damage etc... it more often than not, will not cover if one of you baiks out on the wedding.
We didn't go with either of the two in the title, but it includes things such as if I get sent away or h2b does, with work (both military) and for indurance on the swords and belts too which are slightly more unusual items (and cost around £1000+ brand new!) Which is god.
for us, it was essential due to the nature of our jobs, and the swords too.
And we lived happily ever after!
CommentAuthorBeckyU98
valentina that was for £15,000 of total wedding costs. we havent added the swords onto ours yet as waiting to see if H2B's friends will be in afghan or coming to wedding and being in guard of honour. adding the swords on would be extra which i will see if its possible to add it onto the policy after xmas x
CommentAuthorValentinaK
Oh Cool, what i meant was did you have to pay the excess for each individual item in the event of the wedding being unable to go Ahead?
some policies are li I enjoy that and it's worth checking the fine print.
And we lived happily ever after!

Im just leaving it now, dont think there is much point buyi9ng it now, only have 65 days to go! xx

Its something that can prove to be really useful should the worst happen - i have friends whose venue went bankrupt a week before their big day leaving them no where to get married or have the reception - the insurance covered the re-arrangement of everything and although i don't know who they were with , they were really helpful in what could have been an absolute disaster - its more to do with who writes the policy ( in the background) rather than who sells it but i would suggest checking the wording before you purchase to ensure that all the particular items in your wedding would be covered. xx
