Help, this will be my second marriage, and i know i need to show my decree absolute only i cant find it eek!. I have found a photocopy but dont know if it will be accepted when you go to give notice of your wedding, I have the original decree nisi. Does anyone have any idea of how much it costs to get another orginal please and how long it takes to come through the post or if you have to collect it.

My h2b was the same as you and couldn't even remember when he was divorced! He rang the court and was told to go down there and it only cost him £5.00. He was given a copy but it has to have an original court stamp on it.

if you go to the original court of issue with the copy they will issue you one there for £5.00 if you didnt have the court reference number etc it would be £40.... photocopies are not acceptable. if in doubt ring registrars office that you are giving notice to and ask. good luck x

best advice is to try to get an orginal copy as my ex's cost him a fortune as he couldn t remember anything good luck x

thanx trustmeimawoman, ive got 18 months to go yet, but im going to phone the courts tomorrow and get one as soon as possible before the prices go up lol. x
