Balloons? Ribbons?
CommentAuthorTotallyLovedUp
silk or foam flowers instead of real ones are a lot cheaper and will soften the room up. We are making cushon hearts to match our colour scheme as decoration. places like dun elm of the mill do some nice things and are a bargain! (join the first 2 words and take out the of the lol) erh....streamers, balloons, candles??
CommentAuthorAbi4tomboy

Do you really need chair covers? our friends had their reception party (a casual buffet) at their local dance studio. They had loads of balloons and a few flowers dotted about but didn't bother with chair covers and to be honest the room still looked fab. After a few drinks you wouldn't have noticed anyway!
Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

well for us its a must sorry have specified that the chairs in our village hall are 1970s plastic chars and no amount on balloons would make them look good.

Yes lots of lovely ideas the only problem is chair covers work out very expensive

We are also using a very pretty village hall which wont need a huge amount of decorating on its own because its gorgeous. We are however having white table cloths with orange runners, flowers (wooden roses in glass vases) on the tables, balloons etc just to add a little bit extra. we also bought some shiney spinniing streamer things to hang outside on the tree.

we havent made our mind up about chair covers... not really keen on spending that amount of money on something like that tbh.

You can get 100 chair sashes for £20 from china. Posting is about £18. Organza material and tulle buy online and use your creative friends

Balloons are cheaper than flowers and you can make table centre pieces and other decor with them incorporate ribbon and tulle.

I got email from a venue I am going to visit next week but not sure if I understand correctly the following: Table decorations we will discuss with you
"The Hotel can provide - Balloon arrangements 3 balloons with ribbons & weight (assorted colours) @ £3.95 per arrangement. Balloons only (no weight) – charged @ £1.10 each We do not permit guests to bring their own gas canisters onto the premises.
Ivory Chair Covers with coloured organza sash plus matching organza drapes for the top table and also the cake table Also Bud Vases with silk flowers to match your colour scheme if required – These are provided for the Wedding Breakfast Reception at a special price of £2.95 per person"
Does it mean I can't bring my own balloons? Does it mean I have to have chair covers and sash necessarily from them? when they talk about bud vases with silk flowers is it included in the £2.95?
Soon to be Mrs Gary Doublé
Everything is now booked
Getting really stressed and excited now

I have looked in to chair covers for our village hall but I think it might work out cheaper to hire some nice chairs. Also I'm not sure if covers will fit our chairs (Plastic stacked school type chairs).
