my dad gets nerves and won't do a speech. Who would be the next person in line to do one?

Do you have a brother or an older son?
There are no set rules as to who has to make a speech, how about having the maid of honour do one instead? Or your mother? Xx

I'd ask someone from your side of the family first: mum, brother, grandad, uncle. That would be the order I would use.

thanks. My brother is in one of those situations that he can not come, my grandad not very well, my mum too stressed and uncles will be a wee bit to merry. X
My dad died when i was younger, but i have asked my nan to do mine, so it doesnt really have to be your father as he gets nervous.

You don't need anyone to do a speak if u can't get those u want hun, if u want words from ur dad could get him to write a speech just so u can read it to urself or he could write a lovely message in a card x

What about your maid of honour? Or maybe you could get your dad to record a speech and then put it over a projection of photos of you and h2b? That way he still talks, just doesn't have to actually stand up infront of everyone to do it. And he can have as many attempts as he wants until he is happy with it, if it's recorded there doesn't even need to be anyone other than him in the room when he is saying it xxx

We are not doing speeches as my dad is no longer with us and my other half and his best man are too nervous to do speeches and it would spoil their enjoyment having to do one. So we've decided not to bother unless a drunken uncle decides to get up lol xx
