I've been invitation "researching" for the past god know's how long and received god know's how many SAMPLE'S and haven't liked any of them till this morning I received my Debenham's SAMPLES and both myself and Stephen fell in love with one of them.

We liked the invitation that much we got straight online to order them, only to come across a through difficulties. We couldn't change the wording so was prompted to ring there helpline.

We tried ringing the helpline, it rang once and went dead. We rang again, it rang twice and went dead. We rang again, someone answered, we got cut off. It started to get pretty annoying.

We then tried to ring Debenhams customer service helpline, it rang and rang and rang. So we gave up. We tried ringing back half hour later, it rang and rang and rang, again we gave up.

Anyway you kind get the jist. It took us 4 hours YES 4 hours to finally get through to someone only for the line to be awful and the guy at the other end of the phone didn't understand us. Got fed up, cut off. We rang again, finally a good line and could hear perfectly, well the guy was a bit of a div, everything my OH said the guy got confused. We wanted to be put through to the right people "OK sir, you want to make a complaint" Nooooooooo! As you can imagine, drove us mad but we were still polite. We just want to order our stationery.

The guy at the end of the phone then transferred us to what we thought was the stationery helpline, nope he had transferred us to the wedding insurance department. We explained we'd been transferred to the wrong people only to be told "well, you should be more clear in what you ask for then" OMG!! Transferred again, to a Debenhams store!!

So in the end we've given up, it's been so frustrating. We just want to order our invitation's. We finally find some we like and we can't actually do anything about it! We're going to go to the store tomorrow and fingers crossed we can do it from there otherwise I'm giving up and I'll be on the hunt again.

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rant over!!

I felt exactly the same with regards to my wedding ring and I would normally cut my nose to spite my face, but I really had to have that ring in particular. I'm going to send a really stroppy letter (once I have safely received my ring), as I just find it unacceptable that in this day and age huge companies have little or no customer service.

I hope you manage to get them ordered

That's just shocking! I would definately complain - especially seeing as how you kept on trying. Good customer service should be expected from all companies regardless of their size and I'm sure Debs would be disgusted in the lack of assistance you received. I had really bad CS in a Boots store a few months ago, complained and was dealt with promptly. I wouldn't have normally complained and just accepted this was normal until I was telling my friend and realised just how poor their attitude was. I was promised a gift card and points refund etc etc (even though I said I wasn't expecting anything just good customer service) - needless to say, I'm still waiting for the promised goods lol .x

I've been thinking it through this evening and I'm not sure if I want to get them now, what happened today has really annoyed me. I can probably get a similar design else where so that's going to be my mission for tonight and then I can decide whether to let Deb's have all my money or not!

I'd make sure you make a formal complaint. As the queen of complaining I know all too well it goes in your favour. You might get a lovely % off the invites for your trouble. x
