Hi girls, I'm having a civil ceremony so no hymns. How do you choose the music to walk down the aisle? Also if you could have music written specially for you and your h2b what kind of thing would you want?
Thanks from a newbie X

Are you having a song played or live music for your ceremony?
Anything instrumental will be allowed because there is no religious context.
Also, are you looking for something classical, or more contemporary, or even light hearted? Do you both have a favourite band or piece of film music?
If I was having something written for me and h2b it would definitely be instrumental, lots of strings and something that would make everyone cry!!! hahha!!!

I'd have something classical if we were having a civil ceremony.
My sister had a civil ceremony and walked down the aisle to Faure's "Pavane" which was faded out just before the choral. Absolutely beautiful (my idea lol).
The recessional was Holst's "Jupiter" The Planets.

i would have music that means something to you .. we had the destiny waltz because it was written by my great grandfather
I really struggled with this as whatever song I picked some some content that we weren't allowed. Inthe end my friend who is in a quartet volunteered their services as a prezzie adn they're playing an instumental version of areosmiths don't want to miss a thing :) They're doing a really good mix of modern and classical x
Thanks, some great ideas here. You girls are going to have a great time. Congrats ClaireE just married today!!!
I really like J81's idea "lots of strings and something that would make everyone cry!!!"
My h2b wants to find someone to compose something unique for us. We can choose how long we want it so it's the right amount of time for my 2 bms and me to walk down the aisle. I love the idea of it but don't know if anyone offers this service though or how much it would cost?

One word of warning if it has any religious connotation then you may not even have the instrumental version. Our registrary office told me that i cannot have an instumental version of Ave Maria and that if the registrar recognised it then she would stop it being played!!!!!
Each registry office is different on this but best to check it out if you are planning on having any 'religious' music as I would hate for your ceremony to be ruined by this x
i want holst jupiter suite somewhere in our cereomy as i love it!! we are having problems with the music though x it so hard!! to many songs to choose from! x
