I am so p**sed off! I took my e-ring and eternity ring off yesterday and put them on my bedside cabinet coz my finger started to get really itchy and where i had been scratching it, it seemed to swell up. Only this morning my oldest daughter came down saying 'Mummy you know the ring is that Daddy got you, look at it' In her hand was my precious beautiful ring snapped and bent in half!!!!! After i stopped crying and calmed down, i took it back to the jewellers an hour ago to find out that my garentee doesn't cover it and that it'll cost me £100 to fix it!!
Think i may just cry again ahhhhhhhhhhh :-(

Is it from an independant retailer or large chain retailer? If it's the latter, call the head office and demand to speak to the area manager. Worked for me when the upstart sales assistant was awful to me when I took back a ring I had bought my sister when the stone fell out. Area manager authorised an exchange for a more expensive ring.

Like InDreamland said I would ask to speak to amanger or something as they usually have more power and maybe able to do something, why doesnt the guarantee cover it and do all rings come with guarantees I never thought of this??

How long have you had the ring hun?
You must have statutory rights too I'm sure in relation to product quality. I wouldn't take their first answer on this. Also mention that you were going to get your wedding bands from them (if you don't already have them) but you've changed your mind now due to the poor service and product quality.

Good news ladies, we've managed to get some money back from the 'shop' so my h2b has gone and ordered me another e-ring........ I so can't wait to see what he's picked now as he did it with our 6yr old so god knows what it'll be like. She just said 'Mummy your guna love it more than the other and this one we can't break' lol gotta love her x
