Im thinking about having cupcakes instead of one big cake. Is anybody else choosing to do this? Does anybody know any good websites for them to get ideas and stuff? My colours are white, black and silver. Open for ideas... :)

marks and spencer do cupcakes to order, they have white ones with sparkly whipped icing, i think they are £35 fir 48 of them. there are also 7 tier cupcake stands on ebay for about £30, and the top tier is designed to have a proer cake on it xx

I was going to do this there are quite a few companies that do them but I was planning on getting mine from M&S too! I've now changed to mini square cakes cos we are doing cupcake making on my hen do lol! Have a look on Facebook too cos there are a lot of ladies who work from home baking them and you might get a really good deal from one of them :) x

have a quick look on little miss cupcake on facebook if your in the midlands area or can travel, there are some really colourful ones and some bride and groom cupcakes with dress and suit details! h x

There is an album on my profile hun of my best friends wedding. She had cup cakes, have a look at the pic, it looked gorge! Her stand was from bay of e and her mum made all the cakes, including the square one at the top x

Thanks for that sbride had a look at the photo, the cakes look fab! I know im rubbish at making cakes and im not sure of anyone in the family who could pull it off either :( I had a look at the marks and spencer ones, they were quite nice but id like something a bit special and unique. Well im gonna keep looking.. :)

these look really good - i'd just have a top tier as something to 'cut' for the traditional photo. my friends did the cupcake thing and there was less wastage and it added to the buffet on the night

we'd been discussing about having a small chocolate cake on then top tier with buttercream icing and decorated with maleteasers and a gingerbread groom and bride and then having a couple of tiers of cupcakes with buttercream icing and malteasers. found the different ideas for it in magazines and really loving the thought

Update: My mum and sister have volenteered to do my cupcakes and cake on top. Going to have lots of practice first of course, but i have faith in them ;o) So far i have decided on silver cases, with sponge cakes, and white icing.. Im now stuck for decrotive ideas to go on them, in black. Liking the butterfly idea tho atm. :o)

I googled wedding cakes the other day and had a link come up from a company that does 3 tier cup cakes etc. I also know that our large bakery's locally have stalls on our local market selling cupcakes so could even be done with a bit of determination by buying them, transportin them (uh-oh, lol) and setting them up myself. we were thinking of cpcakes cause it worked out cheaper :-) but then my friend said sh would make us a cake :-) Soooooo we are having cupcake favours instead (as we are using the cake as dessert). My colours are black, white and burgandy hehehe

We are having cupcakes my sister in law is making them for me as a present, we are going to have small stands on each table and then a large stand on the main table. Our colours are dusky pink, black and ivory .... mix in some sparkle, butterflies and flowers :) <3 Xx

We are having cupcakes as its one of the things we used to buy when we 1st got together, where abouts are u as I have found a fab lady and would deffo recommend her :D Im picking up more samples to take to my parents this weekend lol :D xxx
