A few days ago it was Bramley apple pies (even though normally I don't like em)
Today its anything with brown sauce. Omg what I would not give for a bacon and egg sandwich with loads of brown sauce right now :-)
Cravings have only really started lately and I'm 6 months pregnant. Haven't had any weird ones though but I suppose its still early days yet lol

First time I heard of grass being a craving but my mum did suck the bath sponge a lot and spit it out again just to get the taste of it.

Until 14 weeks the only food I could keep down was cheese and onion crisps. After that I never had any cravings just went off lots of foods. Couldn't go near anything deep fried, scrambled eggs made me violently ill and I still can't stand the thought of eating a sausage.

I know someone who craved raw pasta spaghetti, she used to sit there with a pack quite happily nibbling on it, said it was the texture of it rather than the taste!

Dry spaghetti! Yeah I know the feeling of going off food a few weeks ago my h2b asked me if I wanted a ham sandwich and without even looking at the ham the thought of it made me throw up and I just made it to the bathroom on time lol. For the next few weeks I couldn't look at the stuff, bear the smell of it or even sit near him when he was eating it. And I love ham! But that phase did pass and a few days ago in the supermarket I just had to go get ham lol weird.

brocolli for me. your body craves what it needs, and i was really low on iron levels, so i went bonkers over it! When people say they crave really bizarre things, like paper (wtf?) i just dont beleive them, your body cant possibly need anything in paper.

I remember going right of tea and chocolate, and the smell of melted cheese made me heave, and i loooove cheese! i think your taste buds and sense of smell are more suseptible when your up the duff

You could be right though I think its more of a texture and taste thing than a need thing sometimes too, take my mum in the bath with her sponge, she never drank the water she just loved the way the sponge felt in her mouth and the taste of the water (yuck).

I have heard of a coal craving, my mum told me her friend craved it but then it is full of iron and this was back when everyone had coal fires in Ireland. Weirdly my mum ate cucumber constantly throughout her 4 pregnancies yet none of us even like it. I often wondered if there is a connection!

Yeah i can belive the coal one becasue of the iron content and id heard of that loads years back.

I think there might be a connection too, as ive heard a few people say that their mum ate a lot of a certain thing and now they dont like it, though i would of thought it would have been the other way round haha!

I've read in loads of mags about women craving furniture
Polish. How on earth would you know that was what you were craving if you've never eaten it before?

Ok so I had to look up strangecravings (sorry if no-one else us as sad as me and I am about to bore you :/) but craving strange things is a form of eating disorder called pica and is often due to the person being deficient in one of the minerals it contains! Iron deficiency can lead to craving things like clay apparently!!

I couldn't stand anything with apples in - and given that my favourite drink was cider, I couldn't even bear apple juice without being ill lol.

Towards the last couple of months I used to love the smell of fresh tarmac lol. I was lucky as it was winter so plenty of roads were being laid. I must've looked a bit odd walking past sniffing though - strange what pregnancy does to you lol.

Strange you should mention smells because that's initially how we discovered I was pregnant, I would walk into the kitchen and I could tell what flavour of dilute juice he had just made for himself, the smell would just hit me. The test was just a formality really lol but we both knew yet somehow the test was still a shock lol.

I had to get him to empty the kitchen bin everyday. Smells really got to me in the first few months but now my smelling has returned to normal. I wonder how pregnancy affects the sense if smell! Might google that too later :-)
