I am having a debate with hubster, we have been discussing whether to buy a suit for him and best man and then hire cravat and waistcoat or just spluge and hire a morning suit.
My question is, can you wear a normal off the peg suit with a wing collar shirt, cravat and waistcoat, or will it look silly?
Advice pls, we are having a very small unique wedding and dont have a lot of pennies to throw around? x

You can get pretty good suits of the high street these days at around the same cost of hiring so go for it! You could even look on the bay for the waistcoat and cravets and get some pretty good deals on them (sometimes LESS then hiring them) then sell them on afterwards to recoup some costs! As for the wing collar shirts have a look in burtons or even matalans and you will find some fab suits that will look brill with these kinda shirts (h2b wanted this sort of shirt too) and you get the added advantance of trying them on to make sure they suit!

we have bought h2bs suit from next in the sale's and also buying the cravat, waistcoat and shirt worked out over £50 cheaper than hiring one, will put the link of the cravat, waistcoat seller for you on my page as yours is restricted, and it means hes got a decent suit for my brothers wedding next year

My h2b and best man will be wearing 'normal' suits with wing tips, waist coat and tie. I think it looks fine....h2b is quite short and I think he would look like willy Carson if he was wearing tails, much as a love full dinner wear on a man xx
Some of the high street shops such as B..hh..ss do wedding cravats and waist coats which aren't very expensive and all match! As long as the colours go with each other I'm sure it wont look silly at all! x

We hired ours from a local suit place - hubby thought he just wanted a morning suit. I wanted him to wear like a tail coat. He didnt like it at all. We walked into the suit place and they had the tails jacket with pinstrip pants, a cream waistcoat and cofee cravat (our colours) on a manekin - he just said I want that!
I really did marry my Mr Wright and we had a nice day for a

Hubby and my son bought a normal suit from Debs.......and got them in the blue cross sale....it was only £150 for hubbys, and my sons cost £99....and although they wore just ties and no waistcoats, we did look at them in debs and they have wedding ones in all the popular colours. They was going to have them, but decided they would be too hot...(August) so didnt bother.
I can resist anything but temptation

My h2b has had his suit from Top..man because he is slim and shorter, even the smallest sizes in Debs etc didn't fit him. He is just having a jormal tie not a cravat but they did the cravat & bow tie shirts in there! I think the whole suit (shirt incuded) was 200 pounds and the tie was free!!
