Hi ladies, has been a long time since I was last on here, so hope you have had fantastic weddings or are having great fun planning them.

I'm looking for some advice for a friend who is getting married later this year. She is using a school hall for her reception and she needs to cover the walls. We are stumped for ideas and so I wondered if you ladies would be able to help at all.

    Thanks in advance.

    Liz x

I am thinking I will need some drapes or something too, there are two rooms - one is gorgeous and needs no decorations at all (indoor caves) but the room to get there is very 'mens working club' like and I want something to make it less like that and more glam....

We are using a village hall for our reception and brought some ivory silk material (25 mtrs) and we are using it to make panels to hang on the walls also have lots of sets of battery fairy lights to hang as well xx

my niece had her evening reception in the local village hall and my sis in law and everyone completely transformed it and covered the walls and ceiling in drapes it looked a bit like a marquee when they had finished

I saw a wedding on Pinterest that had used parachutes as decor for the ceilings.... Looked pretty amazing, and was really different

Drapes sound lovely esp with the fairy lights. She could always have big screens or big shabby chic frames filled with pictures of the couple telling their story of life up to the wedding day leading into the main reception room might be a nice place to put a wish tree too x
