    Hi all
Im in need of some advice ... Bit of back ground info first -

one of my cousins had a bike accident when he was a teenager which left him with a bleed on the brain! He has had to attend numerous hospital appointments since this over the years and counciliing.

Thing is its left him with behaviour sort of problems (im not sure if thats correct way of explaining it) he gets fustrated very easy, cant concentrate, gets panic attacks, hates crowds, gets paranoid, lashes out, bad temper.

His temper is whats worrying me hes quite a big lad and could easyily hurt someone. He gets paranoid people are staring at him or even if someone looks at him wrong he gets wound up. Once some kids were outside a shop he was in and were starin at him and he went nuts at them my poor aunt couldnt control him and had to phone for my uncle to drive down and get him.

Im worrying about our wedding day as the whole family has been inivted and with his problem with crowds and him easily getting wound up what will happen? We thought maybe we'd put his family on the furthest table at the reception so hes away from most people and closest to the door should he need space and back pew in the church again closest to the door so he didnt feel so un-easy?

Some people may question why we are inviting him but i used to live with them when i went to college and me & him used to be quite close and i am close with the rest of his family too.

Im not sure how to handle it incase something did happen & i dont know how to bring it up with my aunt without her getting funny thinking we dont want him there..?

    Suggestions please?

I dont know why anyone would question you inviting him.... he is your cousin and a friend !!

I am sure your auntie and uncle are more concerned by this then you are and i would imagine they are anxious already. I think if they live with him then they know how to deal with him and if he had an out-burst they would know how to calm him down. Maybe between now and the wedding see if it comes up in conversation between you or maybe mention would xxx prefer to be sat nearer the door/back, etc and see what the answer is.

My cousin has serably palsy (i cant spell today) and thrusts around alot and doesnt stand or walk very well but that is how he is and at 34 years old the family know what he is like and we love him for it. No one makes a fuss or mentions that Paul throws his food around or gets drink everywhere but that is him and we leave him to it and treat him like everyone else. xx

He might be ok with people that he knows it might just be strangers staring that dont know what has happened to him. I'm sure your aunt and uncle will be keeping a close eye on him and if he gets distressed I'm sure they'll now how to calm him down.

sitting him were you are is a good idea i would speak to his parents and see what else they can suggest as they know him best and will know what else will help keep him calm. xx
