My hairdresser is not available on my wedding day so looking for another one, had a quote today from a lovely place which is offering exclusive use on my wedding morning, hair trial for me, then hair on the day for me, 2 bridesmaids and my mother, including champagne breakfast. Cost of all that is £175.... bargain? Or not? Going to have a look around tomorrow but it looks quite posh in the photos and its very convenient to get to. Those of you that are going to a hairdresser - does that seem like a good price for all of us?

I think its a good price round here you're looking at about £70 inc a trial but you don't get the champers brekkie at all - thats just for the bride

LOL - still not quite sure what a champagne breakfast IS actually! Is it just champagne with a croissant to dip in it???

That is a good price. Most of the places I asked about wanted ££££££££ I was lucky and found a lady who is doing my hair and make up for £30 and the other wedding party is £30 each and £10 for my younger bridesmaid as she is just having her hair done.

I've been going to my hairdresser for about 8 years, I asked her boss about wedding prices and all in all it would have cost me £200 for my hair and 2 bridesmaids and a practice for me, I know my hairdresser and more importantly she knows my hair so I mentioned it to her and she said she would happily take a days holiday and be on hand all day if I were to pay her a days wages, worked out much cheaper and best of all I get to have it 'touched up' if need be.... oh I've included her as a guest too, I'm not that mean! lol

Right, decided now. Going for the salon option. Apparently the mobile hairdresser will be expecting a baby the same week we are getting married.... dodgy! So will book the salon tomorrow x

Typical... sent an email to book the hairdresser now she has sent one back saying she has realised she has double booked and has another wedding the same day at the same time and if I want our hair done by her we have to go to salon at 8am!!!! Dont really want it done that early as not getting married till 2. Bah... will have to rethink and start looking for someone else. Unless you good ladies think that 8am is acceptable.... seems a tad early to me!

£175 is an excellent price. I've been quoted £30 for the brides hair (£15 for a trial) and £20 for the bridesmaids hair (£10 for the trial)! I'm having to go to the salon as she charges something ridiculous like £50 an hour if she has to come to your house!

Just read the update, silly me. 8am would be too early for me too but as Dove says it depends on how long it will take to do your hair.

Well, there will be 4 of us to be done and I could go last I suppose, would be finished by about 11 at the latest, then 11.30 by time I get home which leaves 2 hours before the car arrives.... time for makeup, spot of lunch and putting dresses on, suppose that isnt too bad. And if they use lots of hairspray it should stay put I expect! Its not as though I will be doing anything too energetic between 11 and 2..... no housework or anything!!!

I dont think its that early as I had my appointment at the salon on the day for 9am and both my bridesmaid and I got ours done and my wedding was at 2pm too. Mine didn't need to be touched or redone at all before the ceremony and it lasted all day until I went to bed at 2.30am. And you do have more people getting hair done than me so I would book it if I were you. And the price is fab. xx

I actually think that seems to be a reasonable time to start the hair. especially if there are 4 of ya. my wedding is at 2 and there are 2 adult bridesmaids, my daughter as flowergirl and me 2 do. my hairdresser will probably be here quite early as well. and like ya said, it not like ya gonna be rushing around doing anything energetic between those times. id go for it hun xx

I think 8am sounds good - also with all the champers you may consume its good to pace it and leave plenty of sober time :)

Well, that all went down the pan! Went to book it and they were shut. Rang up the next day and hairdresser said that she would have to have finished our party of 4 by 9.30am at the latest so it would mean a VERY early start!!!! OMG, I would spend the day looking haggard and tired if I had a really early start, would have been looking at about 6.30!! So said thank you but no thank you. So have now found another and booked them, 8.30am start and should all be done by about 11am on the day. Hair trial booked for some time in March. Bit cheaper too at £162 including trial plus I get a 15% discount on top of that as I work for the NHS! Bargain!
