Does anyone know how much I could expect to pay for a custom-made ring in 9ct white gold with small diamonds, narrow band in a kind of wishbone shape?.. My engagement ring is an odd shape, kind of a flower/octagon shape, and won't sit over existing diamond bands I've seen, only plain, thin gold bands (and I really really want a diamond one to match my ring).
Appreciate replies from anyone who's bought a custom-made ring even if it's different to the one I've described!

It depends on the weight of the gold they use. I got priced about £300 to have a waxing to shape my ring and that was in 18crt but with no diamonds. I should imagine 9ct would be a lot less but not sure about how much it would be for the diamonds. I went to the birmingham Jewellery quarter and they were great there. Lots of shops to choose from too.

Thanks, that's helpful; I'd only be looking at little tiny diamonds to match the ones on the shoulders of my ring, which are small; though I imagine they'll still bump the price up.
Do you know if you can contact any of the jewellers in the jewellery quarter by email/phone for a rough quote? Our wedding is ages away, but I haven't priced rings up and that's the only thing my OH and I will be paying for, so I don't want to end up in shock at the prices with only 6 months to go lol.
Also, how long is yours taking to make?..

I'm not sure if they could do that but you could give it a try. You would have to know roughly what size and shape you want so they can have a rough price of the weight it will be. They take about two months I think to make depending on how busy they are.

Thank you :-) Also, just another quick question: as you're having a wax mold done, I'm guessing this means your engagement ring will fit pretty perfectly over the top? (sorry for all the questions; haven't done much research into this as you can probably tell..)
barbie86 If you want a 'wishbone', but don't need it to fit perfectly around your engagement ring, the cost would be about £500 including 9 diamonds, from smooch. However we can make a 'perfect fit' for about the same but with fewer diamonds. You can get a free quote and see samples by having an appointment with a smooch advisor. Other suppliers can aslo make shape to fit rings.

We got ours done as there's no way any kind of regular ring would fit round my e-ring. It's the one thing we said stuff the cost on as it's the one thing we will keep from our day forever. Have a look in my piccies for my e-ring and the my wedding ring design. My w-ring will be in plat (to match my e-ring) and have 4 diamonds (tiny ones like you have said you want) either side of the curve to match with my e-ring. Mine's cost £875, but that was pre-VAT increase and I know the cost of gold etc. has gone up since we ordered in November. Yours would certainly be cheaper as you'd be looking at white gold though. I had something similar to what you want made. It cost me £400. It was cut to fit with my engagement ring and has small diamonds running along the top. They go round just the top of the ring so they match the ones on either side of my engagement ring. Its 18ct white gold.

we are finding custom made for groom cheaper.... 3 k in shop, for same quality and size diamonds and same weight of platinum but designed to grooms spec is 1k, stupid isnt it as thought it would b dearer

We're having ours custom made. H2B just had a plain court palladium band and that was £300 approx and mine is more complicated. I'm having 18ct yellow shaped to fit around my trilogy engagement ring. I'm not having diamonds in it. Mine cost £500 but we were quoted up to twice this much from some places. The guy we've gone with does the work himself in his shop so there's no 'middle man'. When you go to places check if they do it there or just send it away.x
