It's great but my other half wouldn't agree to that either. His mates would rib him forever. How about compromising? You can get one where the bride is dragging the groom by the collar that's less embarrassing for him. I am thinking of getting a mr & mrs potato head one as a surprise for h2b as he has a collection of all the potato heads (don't ask why) and I think he would find that quite amusing xx
CommentAuthorChrissy~MrsFaulds2b
It's very funny but not what i'd choose as h2b wouldn't turn up lol. We're just having our initials C&J in swarovski crystals. I bought a me to you cake topper but hb2 said NO :( lol
CommentAuthorlinzi
Oh god no! I think that would degrade your H2B and I can totally see why he doesnt want it! who wants to be known as a lap dog?
yeah the one about the groom being dragged by the tie would be better? same kinda sentiment but not as degrading for H2B?
(we all know we wear the trousers, but our men still like to pretend they do to their friends!)

I can see the funny side but at the same time I do think it's a bit degrading - how would you feel if H2B wanted a cake topper with the Bride on a lead? I can totally understand why he doesn't want it.
There are many 'comedy' cake toppers out there that aren't half as 'offensive' I'd keep looking if I were you. I did see one where the Bride had hold of the Groom's shirt collar so he couldn't run away, something like that might be a bit more appropriate
CommentAuthorRoxy_Blade
I showed it to my h2b saying we should have it. His response? "Nah, its's the wrong way round" Cheeky f*cker. Lol. We were thinking of having the one where the groom is standing on the brides dress so she cant run away, mainly because it made Ben laugh. A lot.
CommentAuthorChrissy
It's great from a woman's perspective, lol. I guess it depends on your h2b's sense of humour. Mine prob wouln't care and say it was quite accuurate :o)
JD is taken so I'll settle for being Mrs Marge :o)

no sorry not liking that one ! as much as its a joke about martyn being wrapped round my finger i couldn't have that on our cake. we too are having initials in crystals. sorry

I've found one on Ebay that is the groom being dragged away by the collar and it has been customised so that the bride is dragging the groom away from a games console, and you can have it customised with your partner's favourite computer type and have an image of his favourite game on the screen.
I would really like to get one of these as a joke to surprise my partner as he is a massive X-Box 360 fan and I feel like the computer is my main rival for his attention! But as I think it would spoil the look of the cake I might get a separate "grooms cake" and put it on that instead to present to my partner.
Maybe this idea would also work for you as if it was brought out at dinner the joke would be confined to the top table and then it would be less embarassing for your partner. Or maybe you could use it on a cake at the hen do or stag do. If your groom really doesn't like it then it is a bit mean to press the issue, after all, it could be seen as quite humiliating, and all his friends and family will be there too.

Tbh i think she was joking about it. She isnt at all trying to degrade her h2b. I saw one that was the hubby lying down in a pool of blood with the wife standing with a knife. I think it all depends on the sense of humour of the couple. x

i think its funny but not something i'd choose but i'm not having a topper :0) did you get round him yet? xx

Personally its not something I would have or the h2b wants but it is each to their own. If he really doesn't like it though I would choose something else. It really isn't worth the arguments over a cake topper.
CommentAuthorluvlifejen (mrs berr
you could get one as a gift to him? rather than on ur cake x

I didn't mean I thought she was intentionally trying to degrade her H2B but I can see how someone would feel degraded by that. If a couple share that sense of humour then great but it doesn't sound like he sees the funny side of it and I personally think it would be very wrong to press the issue with him - it's his day too and he wants to enjoy it, not feel like people are laughing at him behind his back because of the cake topper. I'm also guessing that if he presented TotallyLovedUp with a topper of a Bride on a lead she might not be so quick to think it was funny, tbh I doubt any of us would find it too funny.
As a joke wedding gift I think it would be brilliant and I'd probably consider getting the topper MrsRachyW2B mentioned for my H2B (I'm always telling him he'd get less for manslaughter) but my personal opinion is that it lacks taste and respect for your spouse - just my own opinion though, no offence intended, each to their own!!

i love the idea but dont think it would of gone down well with my H2B lol. i let him chose our cake topper and we ended up with the bride and groom on a motorbike (pic on profile) which is perfect for us as he is a biker, and he felt inculded as he could put his personal stamp on something xx
cant wait to renew my vows, love my hubby sssssooooo much xx

NOOOO it was only for a laugh lol i would think it is hilarious but wouldnt actually have it lol. he didnt see it as degrading and tbh if it were the other way around i would think it was funny, but thats my sense of humour lol and yes he did find it funny just wanted something more traditional on the top of our cake!! if i would have known it would cause such a stink i would never have posted it!! for all those who liked it, i googled wedding cake toppers and that was one of them. i thought it was funny and although i would have loved to have it on the top of our cakeas a laugh i wouldnt have actually done it lol

LOVE IT
My cake toppers are similar... i have 2 pics in the profile and i have gone for the one where the bride is dragging the groom back, h2b also picked that 1 with me, i did prefer the ball and chain 1 myself, but since he like the other more and i didnt have a massive preference we went with his choice. There is also one by the same designer where the bride is trying t make a run for it but the groom is stood on her dress lol.

We're having one where the bride and groom are holding a picture frame and peering through it....to celebrate our vanity of course. The joke is in the eye of the beholder!
