Give the people who have paid to advertise a space to put adverts on the forum maybe just a section dedicated to them that brides can look through when they are looking for something specific, and I dont mean the section they already have cos all that does is take them to the website, I mean a place where the advertisers could actually answer questions directly??

Just a thought hehe maybe it could be seperated so that those brides that wish not to see advertising wouldnt actually havew to look at them

I know i have no right to tell people what to do but it is just simple. Companies have paid there hard earned cash to advertise on here and its not fair to them to be bumping up other companies, fair enough they may have done a good job. We just dont need to use the company names, as i said on the other post. If people want more info then post it on there walls. Come on ladies it isnt hard work really just no names and links!!!!!!!!!
my head will actually explode soon xxx

i agree angelaeris- J a few ideas were mentioned in this thread- if u have the time do read throught them all!! but i think maybe a thread on the forum (like the non-wedding talk one) - i personally come on here to talk weddings so dont look or post on the non-wedding talk ones- where as a lot of the girls love the non- wedding thread (it works for all of us) - i think a thread where advertisers were allowed to post ONLY in this one thread could help a lot of ppl.

What is so difficult to understand???

You cannot post links to other companies or people who sell wedding related stuff - simples.

You CAN mention eBay because its a MARKET PLACE - but you cannot mention the SELLER by name.

Not that difficult really is it??

Jeez, i thought all the drama was done with! Not to put a downer on things but a wedding website shouldnt be so much work. Everyone on here joined to meet brides and be excited about weddings. Rules i understand are there for a reason but it takes away some of the fun. I agree with other members saying maybe an 'I want'/'Im looking for' section would be a good idea, but i also agree with others that if your going to try and find things then how can you get excited and share the best deals when they cant even be mentioned? J your point 2.c is valid but, if all these rules and argument's keep breaking out on the forums your going to lose members because its too much stress.
If the 'my wedding' wall was kept up for longer so if something is posted that would make things easier, rather than things getting lost. I agree with your point that if everyone was joining to be flogging their services it would be c**p but members who have been on here for a while with lots of hearts could surely be trusted to mention where they got things?
Sorry to moan but this site is getting stressful when it should be fun and i really did love coming on here, now i dont want to post anything.

I don't know if I'm being really thick(alcohol soaked brain) but I thought the posting of links on walls if requested, was working ok. I agree no posting links on forum-but if we found something fab-we should share. If advertisers have a problem with us looking elsewhere-then they should offer us something better, that is what the free-market economy is about isn't it? So, if they see that we are asking for something in particular-can they not post on our wall what they have to offer? Most of us on here aren't stupid-we all shop around for the best offer-and if they're the best we will buy from them-if not-we look elsewhere! Also-isn't it an advantage to them to see what the competition is like? We are doing them a favour really-free market research! lol x

    What is stressful?

The thread I left this morning was for moderators!

The rules are having to change slightly as loop holes appear.

To give 'advertisers' a forum section, would mean you would get 'non advertisers' too!

losing the odd member is not a problem, but losing the site or masses of members is. Allowing advertising could put me in that position!

Good afternoon ladies seems ive missed alot today lol.

Goff i agree :-) was confusing what we could and couldnt mention which is why i brought Ann up the otherday as thought this was advertising her site even if we never mentioned the name of said site. (I'll put my hand up and fully admit i have mentioned her once or twice myself, sorry).
If a supplier asks a question to improve her services from people who have used her services i find this good business, after all she DOES pay to advertise here so why not get feed back from here? Instead the post was deleted?? seems strange to me. Just my opionon.

Also ive recommended about 3 people to advertise on here but 2 have got back to me and said they cant ask the customers what they want so unsure if paying out £39 pm is worth it and would rather advertise where they can get feedback from the people who would be using them.............J perhaps we could have a feedback section somewhere or a would you use??

Oh fiddles, what other post? Just went to read and cant find it ?

Well it seems there is no answer then, maybe if you wanted the moderators to answer a private message would have been better, wouldnt have opened all these issues up.

No one minds that there are rules but when they change so often its easy for people not to know where they stand with them. For me this site is a place where I come for tips and ideas, I'm not particularly bothered about advertisers, if i want to read them I will and if not ill ignore them. There never used to be a problem with advertising the forum used to be a nice friendly place to come and chat with like minded people without the worry of saying the wrong thing. I'm far less likely to use this site now as I dont want to made to feel like i'm silly for posting the wrong thing.

Its becoming more about rules and less about fun!

Hails ukbride has HALF of the brides in the UK as members. If your friends think that £39 is too much, ask where else they can spend £39 to Advertise to the other half. It's £39 not £3,900!

What drama??? Am i missing something??

This is a relatively new site and it has to grow and develop - and with that comes alterations - these cannot be avoided.

You can still come on for a giggle... whats stopping you?? Nothing that i can see... and i still dont get what all the fuss is about.

There's sites out there that have FAR more rules than this one.....and that fact that us as members have been asked for our opinions counts for a lot......things could just be changed without asking anyone.

OK lets be realistic here - this site makes NO money from us, so the suppliers are able to dictate what they do and don't want. We either get on with it on that basis, or go elsewhere. I think thems the facts!

I think if we can't mention certain sites on forum then ban all ie ebay, ann etc and if you want the link for a site ask for it to be put on your wall that way everybody knows that NO site is allowed to be mentioned and there can be no arguments about what and what can't be put on forum.

This was a small forum when I joined and we kinda run riot, the site has got bigger, there are more members and more advertisers, as the site evolves so do the rules. People then kick off about the rules, tension is created and its not fun. So, the rules are really simple to understand (I think), I also think these rules are the same you'd find on any other wedding forum, so sayng you're leaving because of it wont help much - you'll have the same rules elsewhere - its just that people accept them there as they have been in place for longer as they are older sites. .

These rules do not stop you helping each other, it doesnt stop you making friends, sharing opinions, giving advice - those are the things that make the site great and that wont change.

could you make it so that when you get added as a friend or make a friend it doesnt say this on the wall. as we are not allowed to advertise/mention anything on the forum any more people leave stuff on walls more but these friend making thingys get them taken off the wall quicker. We now HAVE to make more friends to post links on their walls so im finding links I have got are removed way to quickly

Its a MARKETPLACE that sells LOTS OF DIFFERENT things and is known worldwide.

It is NOT a specific person or company IN DIRECT COMPETION with this site.

    HOWEVER
