I have mentioned on here before that we drove past our church & were shocked to see that there was scaffolding across the entrance of the church, from the ground to the roof.
We planned to talk to the vicar today at church to find out if it will be there for our wedding but he wasn't there, another vicar led the service, so I'm going to email him.
Can anyone help with what to write in the email? I am rubbish at this sort of thing.

The scaffolding was actually worse then we thought, in that the inside entrance is also covered in scaffolding, so all shots of me walking down the aisle will be tainted by the ugly scaffolding :(

Just put it straight to the point, say you have gone past the church and noticed that there is scaffolding up and was wondering how long it will be there and if it will be down by the time of your wedding.

    I've had a reply...

"Unfortunately the scaffolding is likely to be still up during your wedding. It is unfortunate but a health and safety issue that needs attention. We have had two weddings already with the scaffolding up and although not ideal there are plenty of places for wedding photos inside and outside of church without the scaffolding visible.

But I am sorry this is something we can't avoid."

    Gutted is an understatement :(

I've emailed the photographer to let them know.
After doing lots of g00gl!ng it appears that usually the church would notify you of any work, we were told nothing!! If we had been forewarned our photographer could have visited the church & taken photo's, so that after our wedding we could have at least been photoshopped onto the church background, so that the scaffolding wasn't in the pictures.

We've got scaffolding at the cathedral and it was all outside and we were made aware of this.. We had an email a week or two ago keeping us informed to tell us that for our wedding, there's going to be some inside near the pulpit :( It's not ideal but can't be helped really as it's something that needs doing urgently and not something you can halt for something as small as a wedding in cathedral terms. Not that weddings aren't important but in the great scheme of things, a wedding is an hour plus some photos afterwards which isn't a great deal of time compared to all the work needed doing. Like you say, your tog is being positive so hopefully it will be sorted for your photos and I bet that on the day all you will really care about is getting married and focusing on other things so try not to stress! :) x

That's a bit bad that they didn't tell you! Glad you got it sorted with the photographer though and I hope it doesn't spoil your day too much
